Well, I guess I have to go with my usual media-blackout-following-a-loss routine. Can't listen to all the gushing over LA's "dominant" performance -- you know how they're wiping the ice with us with those overpowering OT squeakers.

Tallinder has not played in 6 months. He is in no shape to be playing Cup Final games. Not over a guy who helped generate our only goal tonight and has a pulse in the offensive zone. His shortcomings on D are frustrating but he's not coming out.

LA's stars are coming up big, NJ's are not. That's the story of the series.

Yep, just win the next one. Don't forget, we are the only team to give L.A any trouble all playoffs. 2-0 doesn't do it justice.

Larsson in. Harrold sits.
Sykora in. Poni sits.

That's what I'd do if I were Pete.

Excuse me for seeing the inevitable. Doesn't mean I like seeing the Devils lose, and it's funny how you've basically just said "If you don't always believe NJ will win every game and every series, you're not a fan." Doesn't work that way.

He is close to the record of regular OT goals, and everyone can see that he gets on another level when the game matters. Don't bring up irrelevant facts like GWG OT goals.

This team has never done anything the easy way. Did we really expect them to do it in this series? Yes being down 2-0 is rough, especially against a team like the Kings. But it's not impossible.

That might be true but we need goalscoring more than anything else. Sykora should play in the next game simply because we need his shot. And Josefson is unfortunately the first guy who will come out of the lineup.

This.

On the bright side, by passing on tix for this game I avoided the long, sad wait for the late train with fellow fans at Newark Penn.

So how many goals has he scored in the Playoffs in his career?

We can extoll the virtues of YaYo and what he can do NEXT SEASON when he plays full-time(it's not like Sykie is coming back). I want a chance to GET A PUCK BY THAT LUCKY SOB IN NET!!!!!

What can I say that hasn't been said before? This LA team is unbelievable.

I can't be too disappointed, my team played their hearts out in two hard fought losses. NJ has had a great run up to now. I wouldn't mind it going on a little longer than 4 games! Hopefully they can still make a series out of this.

I like the idea of a shakeup, but no way you can sit Harrold. Larsson doesn't really deserve to sit, but Harrold and Greene have been the only D-men that have played consistently well these two games.

I want Sykie back in. Don't care who he replaces as long as it's not a 4th liner although Ya Yo wins faceoffs so I don't know about him either. I can't see Poni getting scratched though.

Play Sykie. He's sucked in the playoffs this season, but we've had a lot of chokers. They know who they are. Sykie bounces back pretty well. He did in the regular season. We NEED to put him back in. If Josefson couldn't win faceoffs I would throw him right out for Sykie back in.

The worst part, imo, is that ESPN did everything they could to ignore the Devils beating the Rangers on their daily shows like PTI and ATH. They went from "What do the Rangers need to do to beat the Devils" to "The Kings are the clear favorites to beat the Devils in the Final". No moment in the sun for winning the East, just brushed aside.

Exactly my point. Don't care how many goals Sykora has in his career, he's not that player anymore.

Sykora is way too slow to play in this series.

But we "should stop living in the past", RG. That's what the "majority" here say.

This may be unwanted right now, but let's look at this rationally and not overshadowed by utter defeat..

2-0 is demoralizing. It sucks to see them play so well and still come out with the loss, this is true. Anyone who's packing it in and preparing to lie down and wait for a series loss though, I'm going to say you haven't been paying enough attention to this team. Win the next game and we're right back in this series.

2-0 is no bigger a mountain to climb than being down 3-2. How many times have we watched this team win 3, 4, 5, 6 games in a row? Winning 4 games out of 5 isn't the task that it seems to be.

Look at it this way, though. The only thing stopping this team from a victory tonight was Quick. The Devils looked like the better team tonight. I think they still have more to bring. They had good composure in their own end, in the neutral zone, but still lacking a little in the offensive zone.

Solve Quick, and this team can still run away with the series. And if that sounds like a tall task...

Remember this team couldn't solve Clemmensen. Or Bryzgalov. Or Lundqvist.
Quick might be the better goalie of the bunch, but a lot of their inability to get pucks behind Quick and into the net goes back to the lacking offensive zone composure. They'll find a way. Once they find a way, there's no stopping them.

Also, there always seems to be a team every year that comes up with a roaring come back to win a series and that hasn't happened yet... why not us?

Tough loss, undeserved, but this team will once again prove its resiliency.

This is a little different. Quick has a team in front of him that isn't getting rolled on possession. And Quick is a very mentally strong goalie, I don't think he'll fold like Lundqvist does sometimes.

And he played very well tonight. No chance he comes out.

You have been saying we are done since the playoffs started, round 1. Soon as we lose a game you say these things. You have been wrong many times, at what point do you question your weakling attitude? I bet you are real fun to be around. . . . .

I know I said after the Rangers series that anything else was just icing on the cake, but this loss stings hard. Hard as hell. Unfortunately, it is not looking like our year.

Screwing up the line change allowed them to setup in the zone. We are talking 15 seconds here. NJ barely arrived in the zone as the play was finalizing.

NJ doesn't need to change a damn thing to beat LA, other than add a bit of coaching discipline!

These teams are very closely matched up. Switching lineups isn't going to make much of a difference. Just stop making mistakes
