Vote for Eberle (UPDATE: Eberle wins! Voting vs. Spezza opens June 1st.)

http://www.tsn.ca/showdown/2012/

Seems you can vote over and over. I just raised him .05% myself in about 10 mins. I'm sure others voted during that time, but it doesnt seem hard to sway, and he's only behind by a small amount.

Get him through to the semi's!!! It'd be cool for him to win it 2 years in a row.

Wow, Eberle really shouldn't have beaten Malkin last round. That was a sick goal.

I have 20+ of those identical pages open and am ****** the refresh button... won't be long before he gets to 50% again.

Here's a tip for those who want to help out and vote for Eberle...

http://my.opera.com/dude09/blog/how-...-pages-at-once

Opera works well for this... reloads pages quickly and you can add that button on that page to reload many pages at once and then just click away.

Just doing my part to get Eberle some recognition... God knows there's a lot of Eastern voters that will vote against the Oilers no matter what.

A thread like this gets every one voting against him. He should win on merit not on fanboy reloads

Since when have online polls like these ever have anything to do with which is better?

It's all fan vs fan voting.

It's called being a fan... we go to the games and cheer for Oilers players all the while knowing they aren't the best team (far from it). We aren't bandwagoners and support only the best otherwise we'd be jumping from team to team every year.

These little things are all we've got as a fanbase as ways to reward our fave players.

Just watch the Eastern media give the shaft to Eberle and RNH in the awards this June. At least with these little votes we have some input.

I think that following this team for three miserable seasons is proof of my fandom (fanhood? fan-ness?), thank you very much. How does thinking that Duchene's goal is nicer make me a bandwagoner? What do the NHL awards have to do with which this?

Montreal: where anything is possible

Regardless of the poll, Duchene's was better. No knock on Eberle. I don't see why this is such a big deal.

I don't really give a rat's ass who's goal was better or who thinks they shouldn't vote for Eberle's goal for what ever reason. My view is you support your fave players in "fun" votes like this. If others don't want to that's fine. I didn't say anyone is or isn't a fan if they don't vote.

Ya I followed this team for ****en side longer than 3 years as well... and have this lovely avatar to show my loyalty. So what?

I want Eberle to win this and I'll vote my ass off getting him as close to it as possible... if he comes up short so be it but I'll have voted several thousand times and will have done my part.

Alright, agree to disagree. I've been a fan a lot longer than three years too, just saying that this rebuild business might have made us desperate for something to brag about.

Duchene's was flashier, but I think Eberle's was more impressive.

Regardless, Eberle's goal won't win. Last year he legit had the goal of the year. This year he has only gone this far because he is a popular player. It was a great goal, but I actually like Duchene's better. I shamefully gave the homer vote to Ebs

Duchene's goal = Most overrated goal of the year. Pretty horrible goaltending first of all, and that through the legs move isn't really impressive. I bet any really good peewee player can pull it off. Hell, even I can pull off that move anytime (and I never played organized hockey).
Eberle shouldn't have beaten Malkin though...

How Eberle beat out Malkin is beyond me. It's not too hard to hit a puck in the air....

Putting my man crush for Eberle aside:

Eberle chipped up a bouncing puck to get it over a defenseman's stick and had the pressence of mind to bat it out of the air and across the goalie's body at full speed.

Duchene's move was completely unnecessary: the defenseman's stick was on the other side of his body and his momentum was taking him the other way.

Eberle's goal is something a pure goal scorer would do. Duchene's goal is something Rob Schremp would do. Easy choice for me.

It's a shame these types of polls come down to which team has more fans. It turns something that could be sort-of-interesting into a pointless exercise.

Well done to all the supporters. I clicked my ass off like a madman yesterday and it seemed to be a losing battle as he was below 49% and falling but with enough support I see he's back above 50%. It would be cool to see Oil fans (and other Eberle fans) get another win for him.
