I think the dude has some things he really needs to work out. I still believe he'll play this year though. Otherwise he would have just retired.
I think he'll play next year too. Unfortunately it won't be with the Bruins.

IMO, players' personal lives are none of my business and should be off-limits to the media too. But that cuts both ways, and TT opened himself up to some inappropriate scrutiny and unfair criticism with the Facebook comments. I wish he had simply alluded to "personal reasons" and left it at that.

I'm not too worried about his legacy with Bruins' fandom. He's one of the greatest and most important goaltenders in Bruins history. This will blow over eventually (not soon enough, alas) and that's how he'll be remembered by most fans.

Also, it's only June, there's plenty of time where this could be worked out without too much damage to the roster next year. I still believe some deal will be struck.

We would both rag on him...

He places more value on his faith and family than his hockey career. I applaud that folks, and if you don't you are part of what I consider to be the problem in today's society rather than the solution.

This man at the top of his sport is leaving the game he loves to try to save his family.

God bless you Tim. I wish you the best and will pray for you and your family. If you ever get to a point where you are able to get back on the ice, for the Bruins or another team, I will applaud you for doing the RIGHT thing.

This was never about the Bruins or Boston or management for Tim, but certain media members had to make it a story... and certain readers had to take the ball and run with it...
Scotia, with all due respect you should make sure you are 100% correct in your sources before you post marital issues are the cause. That is 100% untrue and his wife did not leave him. She moved mid season, but it was planned and he was fully behind it.

Can we lay off the mental health cracks and all of that stuff please? Unless you have experience with it please keep it to yourselves. It isn't something to joke about.

Maybe Timmy is a true conspiracy theorist, and believes that economic doom really is coming (like he mentioned in his post a few days ago, citing it was more important than hockey). Now he is headed to the secret underground bunkers in Denver.

Rick, maybe he's just a ******? Are you even remotely open to that being a possibility? That Thomas is all about Thomas, and while a great goalie and a huge part of why we have a Cup in '11, he's a grade A ass?

Is there even a slight possibility of that being the case in your mind?

Because what he is saying is not only wrong, it isnt something that should even be speculated unless you are 100% sure its true.

It's almost like he started becoming paranoid and or delusional the past few days...

If that doesn't make it "official" I don't know what does, haha.
So did anyone read this article? Did he unfriend teammates, or just unfriend the Bruins' official page? Two different things which are not made clear in this "article".

OT, but there are a lot of folks who are concerned that we are heading for more serious convulsions in the global economy. It's not strictly a fringe or conspiranoid pov.

But again, I wish TT had just cited "personal reasons" and left it at that.

I'm pretty sure he can't even "unfriend" the Bruins' page...

Both his and the official B's page are fan pages. Meaning you can "Like" them and "Unlike" them. I don't think one fan page can like another.

I think that opening line was a bit of a joke.

100% believe Scotia. Not the first time I've heard this either.

Also agree that he would have retired if he truly was going to sit out. He'll be playing next season, just not for the black and gold unfortunately.

Wait yeah... that article doesn't even make it clear if he unfriended players or the team... not only that, I can't even find on his facebook where I'd even find that information. (it doesn't show his list of friends and there's no recent 'history' where it says he "unfriended" anyone) Guess that teaches me not to look at this stuff myself

Not that it didn't happen.. but I'd just like to see it for myself.

Very true people. Whether they're right or wrong they're tasteless, crude and classless. TT was a huge part of the Stanley Cup winning team and even if you don't agree with his philosophy's he should still be respected for what he did here.
