Okay, if you're a team (especially Ottawa or Phoenix) who would you rather have?
Vermette, a former 2nd round pick of the Senators is a good 2nd line center who can win faceoffs and create offense. This year he was traded to Phoenix for a 2012 2nd (Ottawa's from the Turris deal, ironically IMO) and back up goalie Curtis McElhinney.
Turris, a former 3rd overall pick by the Coyotes, has struggled in the NHL but Ottawa seems to like him as they traded for him and gave Phoenix a 2012 2nd and D David Rundblad.
So like I said at the beginning of this thread, if you're a team or a fan of any team in the league (especially the two mentioned) who would you rather have?
Also, sorry if this was already posted, I've been thinking about posting this for awhile.
At one year older (same age was the lockout), Vermette managed 33 pts in 82 games on a stacked Ottawa team. Granted he was on the 3rd line instead of the 2nd, but he had almost 30 extra games to do it.
I loved Vermette, but his 65 pts season was an anomaly big time. His shooting% was 5 percentage points higher then his career average; it's no wonder he regressed.
Turris is young and seems to have finally found a place he fits in. Needs to get stronger, but could develop into a gem, where as I think Vermette is a good 2nd line, 35-50 pts guy who provides good faceoffs and a strong 2-way game.
