In case anyone didn't know of that -- that IS Stephane Matteau's son:

http://www.thehockeynews.com/article...t-Matteau.html

Quote:
If you happen to be at the World Junior Championship in a couple years and hear a player on Team USA trash-talking a Canadian opponent in French, don’t be too surprised.

Despite his name and family history, left winger Stefan Matteau – son of ex-NHLer Stephane Matteau – will be joining the U.S. national team development program next year and his play with the Notre Dame Hounds this season indicates he’s going to be one to watch.

If we don't go for broke and go for Galchenyuk, grab Matteau's son!

I want Frk -- the idea of having a player with no vowels in his name is pretty badass.

He's also pretty damn good.

ryn mrry is gonna be a special player.

as in really special. perhaps the best d prospect to come from the w in well....a long time. he could go no.1 next june.

ive seen alot of this kid and he really doesnt have a weakness. 6' 185 size is maybe his only problem and that not small at all.

hockey iq off the chart. has always captained every team hes ever been on and hes been playing like an 18 yr old since he was 15. passing ability and on ice awareness is nhl level now or better. his skating is fluid and flawless. hes controlled, smart, poised and intelligent. pretty much a 10 outa10 player. hes simply a prototypical top pair offensive damn.

think scott niedermayer.

and like above, we can just remove his vowels.....

Anyone know where Zengus Girgensons will be playing next year? I know he was committed to UVM for the 11/12 season, but I think I heard that he didn't get enough academic credit or something and will now have to wait until 12/13. Any truth to this? Anyone know where he'll be playing?

I've already posted several times that my early favorite is Nicolas Kerdiles.

Like Miller and Kreider he's exactly the kind of player the Rangers would target.

Good size, potential high-end skill, great character and drive.

Wow Matteau at only 17 years old is 6"1' and weighs 207 pounds. We got a big boy on our hands. Does he have any skill? What's his deal, any scouting reports on him?

Get me one of the three Russians. This is the year to do it. I don't care how.

Nail, Galchenyuk, and Grgiorenko are the real deal. Now let's hope the Russian factor makes Grigorenko drop and we nab him.

Knowing that the Capitals aren't afraid to take Russians, is anyone else scared ****less at the fact that Washington has Colorado's first round pick next year? They could definitely get one of Yakupov, Grigorenko, or Galchenyuk based on how bad Colorado does... I'm scared

I like the names of both Ville Polka and ZENGUS, I'd take either.

I have no doubt the Rangers take Stepan unless his value sky rockets out of reach.

Yes.

But let's not mention it ever again.

Would also like Frk, going to be a good draft.

Would be the year to grab a goalie in the 3rd should be some solid ones.

Not sure but I think we'll have another Subban get drafted this year he may not be eligible until 2013 can't recall.

Would love to see Collberg on the Rangers, kid is a gem. And Collberg at #18 and Forsberg at #4 is ludicrous, Collberg has the numbers and outplayed him when they went head-to-head, is more of a complete package.

Unless Lundqvist, Staal, and Richards all go down (knock on wood!!!), there's no chance he'll be around when we pick.

But, yeah, kid's looking like a beast. Nick Ebert is another to watch out for. One of the posters on a forum used to frequent once coached him, and he described him as, and I quote: "A combination of Mike Green and Chris Pronger."

The high-end part of this draft is very high-end. Some of the players that go in the 20 range in this draft probably would have gone top-5 in the '11 draft. That is how deep this draft is.

I, for one, are hoping we'll be more in the Matteau range.
