BC isn't the problem, the guy is working in a market where attracting even "Captain Canada" at 38 years old is impossible. Not to mention for more money than the other options.

The problem is that the Raptors are dead. We can thank Vince Carter and now even more so, Steve Nash. He just killed basketball in Canada.

Nash's ex wife and kids live in NY. Its been speculated for a while he's wanted his kids in the city he plays in. I'd be willing to bet that played a bigger factor then we think, imagine they didn't want to move anywhere

Shocking.

An aging yet capable PG doesn't want to come to a rebuilding club.

Come on this shouldn't be a surprise. Unfortunately we shouldn't be in the top-5 next season either unless we trade off a few pieces.

Rebuild on the fly stuff needs to stop though.

I think this is a tad overdramatic

Nope, blaming BC like he ever had a chance is overdramatic.

Maybe we can hire Nash as our Gm when he retires.

Just remember.. If Steve Nash aka "Captain Canada" wouldn't sign in Toronto at he twilight of his career for outrageous money.. Why would you?

Jonas Valanciunas better be the next coming of a young Pau Gasol.. Oh, nevermind.

The raptors sucking forever is killing basketball in Canada. Not a guy they traded ages ago and a guy who didn't sign here.

Goran Dragic is an option. We'd need to pay him a bit (asking for 10M/season), but he's probably the most viable starting caliber PG.

Then trade Calderon to a team who could use a PG, either starting or backup.

How about the Golden State Warriors? Curry's ankle issues are legit, and if he goes down they are currently hooped.

Get someone like SF Dorell Wright?

Goran Dragic and Jeremy Lin seem to be next on the FA list, Lin was rumoured to be getting an offer sheet from Houston but I don't think that has happend yet anyway.

Dragic is looking for a 5 year 50 million dollar contract and a guaranteed starter job.

But kowing BC he is going to end throwing the money he was offer to Nash to Jason Kidd.

Like I said, if the GM of the men's Canadian basketball team wouldn't sign in Toronto at 38 for more money.. Why would you?

Unless you're a European or getting ridiculously overpaid, Toronto will always be known as that obscure place where free agents don't consider and drafted players can't wait to leave.

I'd be down for Goran Dragic, but Fields + Dragic isn't enough for me to call this offseason adequate.

Would love one of Ilyasova and Batum but I heard Batum might be headed to Minnesota.

Batum will sign an offer sheet with Minny but the Blazers say they will match.

No point in signing Ilyasova as long as Bargnani is here.

Are they going to rescind the Fields offer? I thought it was done only if Nash signed in to?

Not a fan of Nash btw.

I doubt we will tank.

With Bargs + JVal + DeRozan + Ross + Calderon, we'll probably be good, but not good enough for the playoffs.
