Slightly disappointed in Nash not coming here, more disappointed in the fact that he's going to the Knicks. Was hoping for a championship caliber team, but who knows, maybe Nash can work some magic out with the Knicks.

It has much more do to with economics and geography. Outside of a NORTHERN few states (NY, NJ, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan), the States have not produced many hockey players at all. For the mostpart, the states that actually DO produce hockey players are not heavily populated. If you compare the population densities of where NBA players come from compared to American NHL players, the difference would be striking. Hockey players come from low density, northern climates. It is true for both America and Canada.

Basketball players come from warmer, southern, and usually urban areas. In an urbanized environment like Baltimore or Manhattan/Brooklyn/Queens or Boston or Washington DC...public ice rinks don't exist but neighbourhood basketball courts are easy to make. The economics of building a hockey rink simply don't make sense, yet anybody can dribble a basketball in parking lots and streets. Hockey is a game that got popular on frozen ponds and rivers...which 95% of the American population does not have access to. Simply put, hockey will never ever surpass basketball and football in America.

Seeing as Nash is going to New York anyways can we rescind the offer sheet for Fields and just go after Dragic with the extra money??

With or w/out Nash, sources say, Raps will keep trying to trade for Kyle Lowry. Raps talked deals w/HOU at draft. Still want him either way

It's incrediably unlikely that the offer sheet will be rescinded as that looks terrible on the franchise to do that to a free agent.

They could probably rescind the offer before the 11th (The first official signing day), but it might damage the team's already tenuous presence on the FA stage to go back on an agreement with a guy. Unless they told him that they would only do the offer if Nash signs in Toronto.

How about if he conveniently failed a physical? That's never happened in the NBA before

if they fudged the results so he failed, and the Fields camp knows it's faked, it would probably open the Raptors up to a lawsuit.

Fields camp would file a grievence then it would go to an arbitrator and the Raps would lose and that would look even worse than rescinding the offer sheet.

Lets go all in Tonya Harding style.

We all have to use that gray matter, I'm sure if we put our minds to it and brainstorm hard enough we can find a loophole and get out of this nightmare offseason. Fruitman better be working on it as the 3 day window is almost up.

Fire Colangelo and Stefanski, hire from outside the organization and have the new GM tell him we are going in a different direction.

**** Nash. I hope the Knicks miss the playoffs and he has terrible chemistry with the other primadona on their overpriced, underachieving roster.

I really fail to see how Nash is the bad guy here.

He's 38 years old and is chossing to go to a team that has a better chance of winning than the Raps do. Pretty much what most on here wanted him to do anyway.

True but we need a legit replacement and I don't see any GM's out there. Masai Ujiri perhaps? Think we can pry him away from the Nugs?

Also I was really hoping we could pull a Danny Fortson, Alvin Williams situation all over again. That's the only time I can remember a deal being backed out due to a physical being failed mind you that was a trade, which was actually a good thing it was backed out as Fortson ended up being a scrub. Although Alvins knees were going by then.

This is what you call a desperate BC. He knows his time is done. With that being said, I want him gone. I trust Casey and I like the direction he's taking this team, but we need some pieces. TBH, Nash should be playing for a contender. Doesn't he want to win a title?

I'm surprised we haven't heard Jason Kidd's name pop up yet.

Jeremy Lin would be more of an MLSE-forced move rather than a BC move.

BC doesn't need people to tell him to do something stupid, he does it all on his own.

Jeremy Lin is terribly overrated. Let New York and Houston battle it out. While that goes on, we swoop in and take one of their other 2 quality starting capable PG's if they can secure Lin. I just want 1 of Lowry or Dragic who are going to blow-up, next season. Book it.

The only reason MLSE wants Lin is for marketing (huge Asian community in GTA). As a basketball move though, it's beyond terrible.

I still think it's funny Houston wants him back though after waiving him for scraps (Dalembert).

I don't think they traded him for scraps. I'm pretty sure they outright waived him.

Hopefully we get Lowry.

Nash is a Laker.. Lol great troll job by him. Never even considered Toronto or New York.

From RealGM. Not sure of the validity of the sources.
