Martin Brodeur Appreciation

This man has been playing his ass off in this series and for most of the playoffs and his entire career. Damn shame he's been hung out to dry by his team.

Appreciate everything Marty has done in his playing career. Dude plays his ass off game in and game out.

Marty Brodeur appresh.

He's had a great playoffs! Just been incredible. A couple clunky games, but that was back when the team could actually bail him out, and we won those games.

Hope he's back next year cause he's giving us Vezina caliber goaltending this playoffs. He played Vezina worth from post ASB all the way through the playoffs aside from bad games here, and there.

And everyone thought HE would be the achilles heel. Who knew it would be the captains.

Remember the days of ''Marty sucks, and hasn't been to the Conference Finals since Stevens, and Niedermayer were gone? He's been pathetic post lockout!''

This was as recent as the Florida series. Not so much on here, but the TG blog more so. Though a lot of people questioned if he could take us to the Finals or a deep playoff run. ''Parise can! The question is can Marty?''

LOL at that. Suck it Marty haters! He won't be lifting a 4th Cup this year, but you can't blame him. I think he wanted this Cup more than anyone else. Stupid Parise think he'll have another chance.

what's worse - seeing your team fail you or having the refs pile on by handing goals over to boot? LOL

Poor Marty.

We lost that game. No doubt about it. What didn't help? The non-whistle on the pad stop on the first goal.

We were slow all night. Not stepping up on de, not winning the extra effort, it goes on...

To be honest, the entire team deserves an appreciation thread. Who thought we were going to the in the SCF, at any time at all this season?

They ran out of gas, and LA is too good. Plain and simple. They're dominating us just like they dominated every other team they played.

Marty realized going into the playoffs that this could be his last shot at a Cup. He showed that. He's played outstanding in all 3 games so far in this series. It's too bad that most of the players didn't realize this could be their only shot at a Cup.

I love Martin Brodeur. Mr. Consistent. Dude does it all. I hate typing this because I know he's 40 years and I don't know how much longer I have to watch this man between the pipes. I'm almost choked up about this.

Marty's better. Forever.

ONE MORE YEAR! ONE MORE YEAR!

Far and away our best player this series. So damn proud of the guy for really playing unreal since the Florida series. He's still got some magic left.

I don't see how the Kings are dominating us. Call me delusional but I think the Devils just choked. Game 1 dictated this series. Choking on all those open nets really cost this team. I think this discussion is for a different thread though.

Marty has been amazing in this postseason. He outdueled Lundqvist and for that I am thankful. He just doesn't have it in him to steal the Cup, and I can't blame him.

Love that man, he has shown he can still play.

Feel for him, he's playing great everyone else isn't.

I know it's a longshot, but if we comeback that Conn Smythe better be his.

As a Pens fan, I remember I used to hate Marty Brodeur with everything in me. But the reason I hated him so much was because the man was so good and completely owned us. Gotta say it's been awesome watching him play throughout these playoffs at his age. I'm rooting for you guys this series just because of that man alone.

If we did comeback it would be Marty to carry us.

Our team has been a joke at scoring. Two goals. One by a non offensive defenseman, one by a 4th liner that has as many goals as our supposed best player that gets almost 3 times as much ice time. Don't even tell me empty nets. Parise is a joke this series. No reason to bring him back for $7.5 million. We need him back like we needed Mogilny back in 01. Another performer who choked in the Finals.

Quick's GAA before this series was 1.54 I believe, and a 944 save percentage.

His GAA in this series is 0.66, and save percentage 972.

Great post. I love the Pens, and their fans! Not a joke either. There's teams I hate way more than the Pens, and Isles who are in our own division! Felt the same way about Mario, and Jagr, and still feel that way about the Malkinator!

The Pens fans I notice have a softer spot for Marty than the Flyers, and Rangers fans.

We wouldnt be 1 game from losing the Stanley Cup without Marty.

We would be closer to winning the Cup if some other players gave the effort Marty has.

Yes, Marty has given the team chances to win each night.

He had no chance on the first two goals, one should have been blown dead or at least a Devils defenseman preventing the Kings from whacking at it and the 2nd one Parise let up for a second and Kopitar roofed it.

3rd and 4th goals were both stick side again.

Ol' Norm has shown everyone that he can still play. If we lose this series, I'll hang my hat on the fact that he's been, overall, magnificent.

It can't be pinned on Zach, lots of other players have been no-shows in this series.

It's been a great ride this Spring, in a month or so all of us fans will sit back and remember that it was a great season.
