Throw 4.5 million at Cory Schneider

Put some real heat on the Canucks and forfeit the picks if necessary.

Sharp - Toews - Stalberg
Beach - Kane - Hossa
Shaw - Bolland - Bickell
Carcillo - Mayers - Kruger

Keith-Olsen
Seabrook-Leddy
Hammer-Oduya

Schneider
Craw or Emery

It's a fantastic idea that I would completely support (he's only worth 3ish, but the Canucks would match that)

But we can't offer sheet him for that amount without the 3rd round pick we lost in the Oduya trade.

1. We need a third-round pick.
2. Having Beach in the top-six over Saad is hilarious. Not saying Saad is a lock to be a top-six player, however, if one of the two is next year, it's Saad all day.

2 problems

1-Cant offer sheet (Without our 3rd in Oduya trade)
2-Nucks wont let him get to that point as they can file for abritration thus preventing a offer sheet

neither of them have earned it yet, but Beach has paid his dues at least.

The spot should be earned at camp, and not handed to either of them IMO, but it's Beach's spot to lose.

If we go into next season with a top six of Sharp-Toews-Stalberg and Beach-Kane-Hossa or some ****, I might puke.

What dues has Beach paid?

1 horrid year in AHL and 1 solid injury plagued year

Saad made it to NHL and generally looked solid ,, Saad is better player and prospect

Saad should be on NHL roster as spending time in Rockford is pointless for him as he doens't need develepment to any of his game

His D is NHL ready , Has NHL size and showed solid NHL offensive instincts

Based on What? You can't possibly make an assessment if Saad is NHL ready based on last year. Saad appears to be a better prospect but I wouldn't mind both of them getting a stint next year depending on what happens with the roster.

I was referring to a spot in general.

I want Beach-Bolland-Shaw

Does NHL ice time not count anymore?

You know what is hilarious? For you experts? I put Leddy in some rosters years back and got many negative responses, too small, he's too young etc., the truth is you just don't KNOW. Beach could very well explode.

Sure it does. How much did he have for the year and what did he do? 4 games, 24 minutes in the postseason, 27 minutes in the regular season.

More NHL ice time than Kyle Beach has ever had, that's for sure.

Saad looked solid every shift. Even in the playoffs, which is more than you can say for the rest of the team.

In terms of Beach, he was injured .... and that limited time proves nothing. I think you're overstating Saad's performance in the playoffs.

Yes, Beach was injured. That doesn't change the fact that Saad has looked solid in the NHL (even with limited time) when Beach hasn't even laced up his skates for an NHL game yet.

Asking Saad to earn a spot in the top six is fine, but given what I've seen, I think he's already worthy of a spot on the roster.

You can start off by giving him limited ice time -- he's already shown he can handle it -- but the best way to learn how to play in the NHL is to play in the NHL, and that's exactly where Saad ought to be next year.

how many of them actually play big though? Bickell is one of the softest ones somehow.

bickelll had 128 hits in 71 games. he isn't that soft, and is definitely not one of the softest ones

i agree he should play to his size more often than he does though

That number actually surprises me, since I swear I see him shying away more often than not.

of course you do! But I also remember complaining constantly how soft Byfuglien was (before the 2010 playoffs)

Bickell CAN be big and effective, if he wants.
