That is how you get a great player for a lesser price you take the risk if you think he can do the job.

The Kings took a risk, and right now the best goalie in the world is making a mere 1.8 million and they have him signed for next year too. Sure in 2013-14 when he is a FA he will get 8-9 million but right now they have the steal of the century.
No you don't take that kind of a risk at that position. This is the third straight strong season for Quick, and he has gotten better and better...he is worth it and so good that 1st round pick Bernier has no chance of unseating him. Schneider is no Quick that is for sure...

Schneider as I said hasn't shown that he can carry a team and is 1-4 in the playoffs and had to be helped off the ice during one of the games...

Nothing, actually. He was solid while he was out there last year, miles above the pitiful year he had before. If he did pay some sort of dues, I would indeed say he has matured beyond what many who are close to the Hogs ever thought he would do, but then again, he battled a pretty rough injury and came back kind of humble. Will be become a complete moron next year? Who knows. But he should get a decent shot at camp this year.

Saad was the last option this team had once Hoss went down for offense. This over rating of prospects and the actual thiness of offensive forwards was proven right there in the playoffs. A player from juniors who had no reason to be there in the first place no matter how much he dominated children. He did look out of place, and yes, he didnt belong there.

As for better player, it depends on what the team needs. Beach has the best hands in Rockford, by far. Anybody who has watched him can tell you he has offensive skill beyond the dolt who shows up here and there. But he is also so effective doing what he does. I would say, watching both, they are both on the same level of prospect, both could be top sixers, but Beach could also be an effective fouth liner while Saad would only be at his most effective in the top six. And on that note, I would say Beach makes the team before Saad.

Yes. He does.

When?

And to end this post on a happy note, if this team has Beach in the top six out of pre-season then this team isnt competing for a Cup. The young players need to brought along slowly. Put Beach on the fourth line and let him get thru all his crap while putting a decent offensive player out there with Mayers who can win board battles and isnt afraid to stand in front of the net.

So because he got injured he can't be a good goalie, and how do you know Schneider is no Quick, he probably isn't but he hasn't been given the chance either.

Neither of our goalies were carrying a team either last year, while Schneider was consistently challenging one if the best starters in the league, and then outplayed him in the playoffs. Again.

Schneider is a risk worth taking.
