Wow. Seguin, Peverly and Button to Stars. For Eriksson, J.Morrow R.Smith and Matt Fraser.

Holy blockbuster.

Pretty good deal for both parties involved. This doesn't make Boston a better team however. You would think they're trying to win a cup.

I'd agree. For Boston, it seems almost lateral. It makes Dallas a lot better though I think.

I don't know. Loui Eriksson is a highly valuable player.

Pretty even trade. Edge to Dallas if Seguin pans out to his full potential. Eriksson is very similar to Bergeron; he'll fit the Bruins system perfectly. At least much better than Seguin ever did.

On an unrelated note, pertaining to Vinny and Briere -

do "victims" of compliance buyout not fall under the same rules as regular free agents? How are teams able to sign these players before July 5?

Once the paperwork is filed, they become free agents - regardless of date.

The Seguin trade was a good move for both side. If he plays well at center there is a slight edge to Dallas though.

Briere to the Habs. Great, this should finally solve their issues with size up front.

Oh, wait...

Minny signs with the Wild.

Perhaps Vancouver will sign Gilbert?

The Bruins received a lot of prospect depth in that deal too. Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser are two good under-the-radar forward prospects + a 1st rounder from two years ago in Morrow. Fraser's AHL goal production is pretty intriguing for happening so quickly after turning pro.

Eriksson should fit the Bruins like a glove, while Seguin was playing a 4th line role by the Finals for the Bruins (although effectively).

It's a nice gamble for Dallas.

Disagree Ericsson is a good replacement for Horton and Boston dumped enough cap to be able to re-sign Rask and Bergeron long term. But if we got made fun of for NTC look at Boston 10 NTC or NMC and Bergeron and Rask will both most likely have one.

Fwiw Seguin was on the 3rd line.

Heard Nill today, the idea is to let Seguin play C, and move Benn to the wing... Damn! Those are two exceptional young players.

That was a great trade for Dallas can you imagine this top line in a few years.

Benn - Seguin - Nichushkin

But that Horcoff trade

The Jets lost Burmistrov to the KHL:

Another supporting case for the "Russian factor" concern
