Dan confirmed you can import your vinyl groups from Forza 4 and car upgrades. Also physics from Forza 4 are there.

The F1 series is the best racing series, IMO. I would never touch another racing game over them.

I'm seriously considering buying the G27 wheel, but I don't wanna waste money on something I'd barely use.

The demo for F1 2012 sucked, crappy looking and sounding. Couldn't come close to Forza 4.

I have F1 2012 .. it's unreal. To be fair to Forza though, I've always been a fan of realistic for my "sports-like" titles. When I play hockey, I usually play with real rosters, etc, etc. I don't make ridiculous trades constantly either. So maybe that's why I prefer F1.

Do you use a steering wheel? If so, which?

No, joypad. No place to stick a steering wheel "in" and the ones available for Xbox are too "plastic" (I tried a friend's MS official steering wheel a few years ago and didn't like it) or way too expensive.

There is only 1 "title" when it comes to realistic, and that's Iracing. The leap to IRacing can be quite a shock though. It's often not "fun" as it is a simulation. It can take several nights of practice to just manuever a track without spinning out. Never mind getting your lap times down to respectable levels, that can take weeks. And that's for one car on one specific track.

It's also a league so you have to compete against those who have dedicated 1000s of hours of "seat-time". There is no A.I to practice against. It's alone on a track or if you want traffic it has to be human competitors. The league is highly regulated and licenses for series are done in a graduated way. Clean racing with good times gives you points towards a license that allows you enter a series with more experienced drivers of the same level.

IRacing

It's not for everyone, but if your heavily into these games, it is the next progression. It can only be done on PC because the physics engine.

I have a Fanatec Porche GT2 Wheel, with clubsport pedals and a playseat and it's far from a plastic toy. http://www.fanatec.com/

It also works on Xbox360, PS3 and PC, but yes, it was expensive but well worth it if you're a racing game fan.

Fanatec wheels fall under the category "too expensive" for me. Like I said, I don't have anything to put a wheel on anyway.

I wonder how MS wireless speed wheel works on this...

With Forza 4 and the wheel works often so crap... idunno why I even bought the crappy speed wheel anyways.

But this game looks interesting, even more than Forza 4

They should add 1972 Nissan Skyline GT-R to Horizon.

Has anyone tried the demo? I've heard some worrying things so far but I don't have a gold account so I can't see for myself.

I like it so far. Looks and sounds amazing (music on radio channels is good even though not all of it is my style). Fully localized as well. Mustang vs Mustang was really fun. And you people talking about realistic racers, this is not the thread for that, completely different type of game. This is open world racing a´la Test Drive Unlimited, not "sim racing" a´la Forza Motorsport/Gran Turismo/iRacing.

Just downloaded the demo. It was a ton of fun but was NOT what I was expecting (because I didn't do any research first). Kind of shocked this game is under the Forza name to be honest, it is REALLY far from the other games.

Like I said, still a ton of fun. Ridiculous graphics, awesome soundtrack, and for as "arcadey" as it is compared to the FM series the cars still handle so differently/well. Still much more realistic driving experience compared to the last Need For Speed game I played.

A must buy for me.

Definately arcade style feeling when compared to Forza 4. Driving/racing was still enjoyable and you got "rebel" feeling when driving fast around the open highway and the motor sounds roar from your home theater speakers. I think I have to get this one. I just hope there is plenty of cars already in the game...not just some extra cost car packs.

Reviews already out, 86 at Metacritic so far: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-...critic-reviews

I liked the demo and lots of people on my friends list have pre-ordered it so I'll probably do the same.

I love the demo, i may just pick up the game! I've never bought a racing game before!

One of the things i love... the soundtrack. Man oh man, easily the best i've ever seen.. as someone who really likes to go to music festivals.

http://vgost.wikia.com/wiki/Forza_Horizon

The gameplay is a lot of fun too. I've played a lot of racing game demos, but never bought a game... might have to pick this one up.
