Mixed reports - coma, internal bleeding, liver failure... hope he pulls through.

Geez, R5 has to deal with this again.

-The Konstantinov accident
-In Russia, Slava kozlov was involved in an accident that hospitalized him and killed the passenger in his car before he came to the Wings. He was also on the Thrashers when the team was dealing with the Heatley/Snyder incident.
-Slava Fetisov's brother was killed in a similar accident as a passenger
-As per his book, in Russia, Igor Larionov once hit a inebriated pedestrian

And now this...more than one lifetime's share of serious car accidents if you ask me.

Gastrorrhagia (stomach hemorrhage) apparently. In drug induced coma.

Rest in peace.

A true great of European hockey. It's a real shame most North American fans will remember him as a mediocre player with weight issues rather than the dominant force he was on the Soviet national team.

To be honest, all CSKA fans and Russian hockey fans couldn't care less about the memories of NA fans. We had the pleasure to watch playing one of the greatest players of all time and we'll never forget him. He'll be in our hearts forever.

RIP.

I think he'll be remembered as one of the greatest to play the sport and as a part of the Red Machine, KLM line first and foremost by any fans. Also remembered for the hard fought games he played for his country and fans.

Very sad, 52 is too early...

R.I.P.

Really great player. We will never know but I am sure he could have been NHL star or at least very very good player in NHL had he defected earlier from USSR.

I hope both Russian national team and CSKA will retire his #9. Nobody should ever again wear that number.
