Spezza?? Not good enough for top six, not good enough defensively for bottom six. I'd slot in someone like Couture before him.
I agree with pretty much everything else. The last two d-spots are a toss up between a number of candidates - I'd like to see Subban and Burns instead of Seabrook and Staal, but that's simply homerism (and they're legit candidates).
Every time the Olympics rolls around Team Canada uses a lot of centers on the wing because of the strength down the middle. I compiled the following team using only wingers on their appropriate wings. I'm not saying that this is the way that it should be done or that these players are my picks for the team. I'm only guessing which players would be used if they didn't move C to the wing. I know everyone doesn’t buy into it but I’m a believer in chemistry so I’ve used teammates whenever possible. The italics are who I think would be a bubble player for the actual team. They are based on projected skill a year from now in time for the Sochi Olympics.

Interesting assessment, but Hartnell, God (and Flyers fans) love him but he better not be a bubble player and if so, he better not be anywhere near the first line. And E. Staal is a center so that goes against the premise of natural wingers in their positions. Skinner skates too well to leave off on the big ice and Benn gives you too much versatility to play anywhere on the roster and add the physical element to a higher degree than most on upfront.
toews doesn't play wing - and was on the team in 2010...so they're not going to shove him onto wing to accommodate others.
...no chance toews will be a 3rd or 4th line wing so tavares can play 2c...give your head a shake on that one.
if there's nothing else to predict about the team - i think you can predict crosby as 1c and toews as 2c...and then build around that. ... you could put toews in the bottom 6 - but given his offense, i'm doubtful they'd do that - again, esp. in light of his experience.

i see that tavares isn't good enough to make the cut
ignoring the fact oshie isn't canadian - this team probably won't be competing in the quarter finals.

pretty sure Stamkos > RNH and I would agree on keeping the third line together. I understand that you're focusing on chemistry, but I would move that line down to the fourth, throw Seguin and Tavares with stammer on the second line.
also Weber? Might be nice to have
perry for lucic, think he will be much more effective internationally
Bergeron will make this team, no doubt in my mind, I would take him over Hall.

bubble is a more than fair category for Getzlaf, i don't think he makes it unless he's having one of his top 2 or 3 seasons. captaining that WC atrocity will not be completely forgotten.

With Hartnel again no I'm not even sure if he would make the B team. (Crazy to think from a 37 goal guy) That being said, if you were using wingers only for the wing why not use a guy that has that much chemistry with Giroux.

No idea why Luongo isn't listed as Canada's starter in many people's lineups. He will be Canada's starter. He's the best goalie we have right now (yes, he's better than Price). Also I'm very very disturbed by the amount of times Cam Ward has shown up as our starter. The guy has choked in his last two international tournaments, and cost us gold in 2009, and cost us a game against Slovakia this year. No idea why people overrate him so much.

If by that time Iggy is no longer at his current level of play, put Stamkos in his spot, move Eberle up to the 2nd line, Seguin on the 3rd. Staal or Bergeron would be my thirteenth forward (I'm probably under-rating the two). Hall might be a bit of an eyebrow raiser but I think he would add a ton of speed on the larger ice surface that would compliment that line well.
I would love to see Subban make it on this team and maybe he will but at this point I don't think it's very realistic. Myers would be an interesting choice as well.

I think Price would offer the most consistent performance, which I think is all Canada would really need. However it's never a bad thing to have a couple of cup champs to fall back on.
With the Sochi Olympics approaching and a rather limited amount of time for players to perform in the NHL, it will be interesting to see if young guns like Skinner, Kane and RNH or perhaps an oversight like Carter can force their way onto this team.
Canada's best goal scorer and best playmaker, with Perry for size / grit / more goals. Love right handed goal scorers on the left side.
Benn - Toews - Giroux
Love the skill and compete with Toews and Grioux, Benn to bring size.
Staal - Getzlaf - Nash
I still believe in Getzlaf. This line has a ton of size to push people around as well as a lot of international experience. Getzlaf / Nash connection has been deadly before.
M. Richards - Tavares - Eberle
It makes no sense, but you just know that this line would steal the show. These guys just have 'it'.
