LA First round pick in 2012

Does the first LA traded for Carter become the last pick in the round if the Kings win the Stanly Cup?

Yes. So presumably Columbus will decide to take the 2013 first rounder instead.

If I understand it correctly, Columbus can wait until two selections before the Kings to advise the Kings whether or not they are taking the pick. If someone they like falls, then maybe they pull the trigger.

Well New Jersey can still pick this year, just the majority feel since its a late pick they might chose to lose this choice instead of next years.

Just like Columbus they might decide there is a player they want and pick this year, even though they say next year its a better draft....

How great is it that we don't have draft threads dominating our board in June?

Ah, but that follows the assumption that the Kings won't be winning the Cup in 2013!

I have a feeling they may trade this years picks if they don't use it to draft a goalie.

Actually, it doesn't matter if we win the cup or not, CLB is stuck with the pick next year if they do not exercise their option to take our pick this year.

So here's to CLB picking 30th next year!

No, just that it's worth the risk to chance it.

I really don't know where else to put this, but...

Brennan Klak ‏@nhlupdate

For Kings fans wondering, forward Justin Azevedo has signed in Lukko in Finland.

Good for him, bad for the Monarchs. Yeah, there was close to zero chance this guy was ever going to play for the Kings, what with Kozun, Vey, Toffoli & the possibility of Holloway returning.
