I don't even think the other teams GMs would accept those trades in NHL'12.

IMO Green's offense was the biggest victim of Hunter's system. He did underperform on the PP, but he was completely hamstrung at even strength in that system.

For how much longer though?

I figure it would take a very enticing deal to get Winn. to move him.

IMO it would have to be all 3 of those assets for either one of those guys and I still think someone else would top that.

Reasonable but again someone would top that IMO.

You want to supplement a losing culture with one of the losing-est losers in the NHL, who tops it all off by being incredibly easy to play against? Seriously?

Kane... I would punch a baby to get him on the Caps.

Laich + Johansson?

Kane's going nowhere. Winnipeg has all the leverage.

Ribeiro only has one year remaining on his contract, and Dallas is in much more of a rebuilding scenario than San Jose. I'm not saying that Ribeiro will get traded, but I think he's a much more attainable target than Pavelski.

Because in that scenario, we're one injury away from having Jay Beagle as a #2 center.

Nothing is stopping us from signing Jokinen or trying to trade for Ribeiro or doing other things to address center depth. Kane himself can play center in a pinch. Probably better than Laich too. As could MP.

The team becomes much better if that trade is made (not that Winnipeg would entertain it).

For the next two weeks literally all of GM's stars are aligned like never before..cap space, full bank account, roster space, team that he says has hit the level a playoff maturity that he's been waiting for..

He covets speed merchants, youthful maturity, leadership and his #1 need is at center..

If he doesn't go all in, balls to the wall on Zack Parise he will have missed the best opportunity in his career as GM . Need meets ability on 7/1..reach for the grail George..But choose wisely!

Laich and Johansson aren't centers, so we've gotten Backstrom then no one regardless.

I'd love to have seen the reaction of this board to players like Claude Giroux, Henrik Sedin, Patrick Marleau, and Ryan Kesler if we had them at Johansson's age.

I understand this, and I think Mojo will definitely be a very good 2C in a few years, but the fact of the matter is our cup window is closing and we need a 2C, now... not in a few years.

Crazy idea: Why not Chimera on the top line?

No one is suggesting this even though he scored more goals than Brouwer in the regular season and playoffs.

I think in retrospect it would of been perfect for when Backstrom was out for Ovechkin to have a guy going to the front of the net.

Mojo doesn't have the hockey sense of any of these players.

He's one of the best skaters I've ever seen in my life. He competes. He shows flashes brilliance but they are only flashes. You seem to think the flashes will become the norm. I hope you're right.

Yeah, it's absurd how undervalued he is.

On the trade board, someone essentially suggested trading Johansson + #11 + 2nd +
for Kane.

That's an absurdly bad trade.

I posted this there. In year 2:

Kane: 72 GP 19G 24A 43P
Mojo: 80 GP 14G 32A 46P

Because he is a bottom 6 forward, even if he could complement Ovi.

As much as i like Chimmer and how he played this season but we cant expect him to put up the same numbers again next year. He just doesnt have the scoring touch or the hands to be a 25 goal scorer.

Power forwards are the second most overrated commodity on HF, after draft picks.
