Kane's going nowhere. Winnipeg has all the leverage.

Ribeiro only has one year remaining on his contract, and Dallas is in much more of a rebuilding scenario than San Jose. I'm not saying that Ribeiro will get traded, but I think he's a much more attainable target than Pavelski.
Because in that scenario, we're one injury away from having Jay Beagle as a #2 center.
Nothing is stopping us from signing Jokinen or trying to trade for Ribeiro or doing other things to address center depth. Kane himself can play center in a pinch. Probably better than Laich too. As could MP.
The team becomes much better if that trade is made (not that Winnipeg would entertain it).
For the next two weeks literally all of GM's stars are aligned like never before..cap space, full bank account, roster space, team that he says has hit the level a playoff maturity that he's been waiting for..
He covets speed merchants, youthful maturity, leadership and his #1 need is at center..
If he doesn't go all in, balls to the wall on Zack Parise he will have missed the best opportunity in his career as GM . Need meets ability on 7/1..reach for the grail George..But choose wisely!
