Anyways, they're a pretty terrific band and good to see live from what I heard, go watch them if you're going to one of the shows. I think this is one of their newer songs, I wish Muse made stuff like this rather than doing weird experiments. Just a normal rock song, starts off slow ends big. They do some terrific outros like the one at the bottom, wish Muse did more of that stuff still

I saw them live in Burlington, VT and it was great. Well worth the ride from Montreal. Whirring is ****ing insane live.

Picked it up today. I like an excerpt from the lyrics of Isolated System:

(Random radio and TV transmissions broadcast on March 29th 2012 between 18:48 and 19:10).

Yes! Follow me and supremacy are so far my favorites. i'm only one listen through, but looks like this album will at least be better than resistance (which I really wasn't a big fan of).

Mind you, I'm only two listens in, but my first impression is that this might be their most consistant album in terms of song strength since Absolution.

I was pleasantly surprised on my first listen through, it exceeded my not-terribly-high expectations, but holy ****. It just gets better and better every listen through.

I totally agree. I thought Panic Station was just **** at first but after listening to it about 5 times, I now think it's a fantastic song.

Really weird album. I'm sort of glad I listened to it though. I actually quite like tracks 7-9 (Animals, Explorers, Big Freeze), the deep album cuts which I don't think had leaked. Those are more in the straight-ahead melodic Muse style with echoes of The Resistance (which I liked).

The first 6 tracks though... so, so bad. They're almost so bad that they're good in a B-movie kind of way. The frustrating part is that they all have some good moments in them. It's offputting to hear them so closely mimicking other styles from various eras, I don't think it really works. They might've pulled off Madness if they had cut off the last 2 minutes or so. Major guilty pleasure territory.

The last 4 tracks are just plain bad with no redeeming qualities.

Overall it feels like the kind of album a band makes before they stop being relevant.

Come on! It's not classic Muse, but the song is fun.

If anyone's interested, here's the instrumental album

http://pwoperketh.tumblr.com/post/32...-dropbox-links

It's too bad that Matt's vocals covered up a lot of guitar and synth work. I'm enjoying this thoroughly.

They've announced that they're coming to NA for a tour in 2013.

I'm sure there will be more added in the future.

Argh. I enjoyed the last trip through town. But the new album isn't my thing yet. Might have to give it another listen, and hope for good seats in the pre-sale.

Despite the new album being meh, I'll be at both the Detroit and Toronto shows. Too bad they're a month apart. When they came around for The Resistance tour, I did both Toronto/Detroit shows and they were in the same week. Best week.
