Knowing Wang maybe he'll STILL be coaching the Tigers, taking cost cutting to a new level

Simple answer: $

NHL assistant typically make more than an AHL head coach (so it seems from the limited Internet resources on the topic).

huh, didnt realize that. thought the pay would be pretty on par with each other but you would be the one calling the shots, and thus, getting the credit/blame if you succeed/fail.

You guys have a good coach in Brent Thompson. I remember seeing him coach in Alaska and I specifically remembered how the Aces were very defensively sound with him behind the bench.

Would much rather guys like Nelson, Ness, de Haan, Donovan, Sundstrom and Pedan get a coach like Thompson.

I am not saying Thompson did not earn the chance after the run the Sound Tigers put together last year. However, unless the Islanders plan on bringing up a lot of these prospects to be NHL regulars, Thompson's tutelage would be better served in Bridgeport.

Just can Cap and make this guy our coach already! Get it over with.

Then Game 20 of the 2013-14 let's welcome our replacement for Thompson!

I agree. Cannot STAND Capuano anymore, the guy just consistently looks lost behind the bench and shows zero emotion. No moment summed up Capuano as a coach more in my mind than when they called a time out at a home game this year and John Tavares grabbed the drawing board from Cappy and drew up a play.

Hopefully having both Thompson (who I think will be a great coach) and Weight behind the bench will make things better.

I think this move will actually help us win more games. That is if Cap will listen to his Asst Coaches.
