Thank you. And see, these are the "little things" that all the DeBoer fanboys dont see. Except? They're not LITTLE things, they're key fundamental aspects of hockey.
And I've got ANOTHER major DeBoer mistake that took place in the last minute of play.......
There's 1 second left of the Devils powerplay with the Devils up by 1. The Kings player is standing in the box with hand on the door.
But.....
DeBoer has ALL FIVE guys in the offensive zone NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. One of the defensemen has to be playing "free safety" on the play and standing on the friggin redline to address that player IN CASE the Kings win the drawer and fire a bank pass of the wall or lob pass to the player out of the box. #icehockey101
you do realize we get it, without having to point it out on datwesque levels. it sucks hard and i wish we could get into his brain but im no good at telekineses or telepathy or whatever the ****.
As someone who's watch Tallinder his entire career I can say with complete confidence that this was easily the best game of his career tonight. EASILY. Dude was was playing with a purpose and made all of the right decisions.
DeBoers changes worked well today. In hindsight changes should of been made for game 3.
Sykora got Elias going tonight. Patty had a great game.
Tallinder did well in his first game for so long.
And I like Salvaldor-Volchenkov pairing despite Sal having a couple of bad plays in the game. They were very physical and we matched the Kings physicality tonight.

If Greene or Fayne or whoever is at the red line and Henrique wins that cleanly, you have potential for a 1v1.
Then you'd really complain.
You do realize that the likelihood of the Kings winning it cleanly, and so quickly that neither D-man can get back fast enough to get the guy coming out the box in addition to the Kings D-man throwing a perfect dime in between a center, and winger, and splitting both D-men right onto his teammates stick is pretty much 0, right?

I just think it's the freshness. He's a good skater and he's not a bad defenseman but I would equate that mostly due to him having so much energy built up.
