Or was that Lashoff ? Probably both. Too bad Boston didn't keep those guys...
It was Hunwick, I liked him on Boston

What's so frustrating about Hunwick is that he'll look awesome for about 12 shifts in a row, and then he'll have the worst shift in history on the 13th. Turn it over in a bad spot, get manhandled in his zone, get called on a delayed penalty, and then watch his man score to finish the shift. It's amazing.

Avs fans. Don't be fooled by his 33 game season last year. He is what he was when you got him...he hasn't changed. He might "look" good because he's such a good skater and stickhandler for a defenseman, but he can't make an outlet pass consistently, he can't handle guys in his own end, and he's prone to boneheaded plays on a regular basis.
I agree. he sucks

Don't like this signing as much as the Jones signing. Would have rather just thrown stupid money at Garrison or Suter. The term isn't bad though.

He's an affordable, low maintenance, depth defenceman. I would rather Hunwick got a one year contact with all the defensive prospects trying to fight for a roster spot.

Only for 2010-11. Dennis Wideman was the whipping boy for 2009-10. Before that we didn't have one (since the lock out).

Don't mind the deal, he'll be a good boost to the bottom pairing.

If it means O'Brien is not re-signed, I'm good. Although I hope we don't lose Wilson because of this, hes a fairly unique talent that we must keep.

He played surprisingly well this season, even was paired with Johnson for a bit. Again, just like for Jones, he probably got a little more than he was worth but the Avs have money to spend and this won't hurt them. The term is a little weird but it won't ruin anything. A little competition is always a good thing so he could make the prospects work a little harder to beat him out if they want a space. Not a bad re-signing as long as he's used properly. Ideally he's a bottom-pairing guy or 7th. He is prone to bad plays so as long as he isn't used in a role he can't handle, he shouldn't hurt the team.

Get over it. Get a job as a sports journalist, and cover the Avs.
