I'm prepared to hear questions become answers. Literally. We'll learn nothing new.

State of the team.

"Well we lost, and I'm going to make some real stupid trades."

There saved you 3 hours.

Oh, The Game is actually going to have to talk about Hockey. They haven't even mentioned the Stanley Cup Final on any of the sports updates at all. I'm literally amazed.

i hope he actually says something useful to foreshadow the changes that need to happen.... we're really starved for news or data to speculate on.

he won't say anything new. he's very good at speaking without saying anything. it's not a knock on him, as a gm needs to be able to do that, but if you're going to tune in expecting a gameplan for the offseason or even hints at what he'll try to do, you're going to be disappointed.

"Well every season you evaluate the team and make changes based on the result good or bad. This season is no different, obviously we as a group were disappointed how our season ended, but at the end of the day only one team is ever satisfied with their results coming into the draft. We are currently in the process of evaluation and will move forward accordingly."

There you go.

I loved after being asked who the sharks will alter their roster, Doug said something along the lines of, "well, were going to look at trades, we will consider acquiring free agents, and we'll draft and develop players".

Somebody later posted, the only other way he can bring someone on would be driving by home depot slowly to see who jumps in the back of the truck.

....and don't forget " we are not allowed to talk about free agents until July 1" AND "we are not allowed to discuss coaches or players who are under contract to other teams".

He WILL talk about fixing the Penalty Kill, but this is rather obvious and no specifics will be given. Nothing new will come out of this interview- the timing is terrible. There isn't too much he can really say.

he's going to talk about where he likes to tan and play golf and that everyone should do the same and not to worry about the draft, trades or if the Todd is staying put or not.

I forgot my favorite DWism of all time....."Every day is a trade deadline and we are committed to making this team a Stanley Cup contender" . We ought to have a drinking game about DWisms

I think the one thing we MIGHT be able to discern (reading between the lines anyway) is how pissed Wilson is.

If he says things like "Certain people we expected to step up, did not, and that will be addressed" may give us a good indicitation if he blames specific players (Marleau). Or if he talks about 'our players are not getting any younger' it might give us an indication he feels the team needs to get younger, or he might be looking to move guys like Boyle.

Also, I would expect some comments regarding 'getting faster' in some form.

Update: #sjsharks GM Doug Wilson has postponed his appearance today on @957thegame. Am told there is nothing specific to read into it.

Apparently he read this thread and realized that saying something without really saying anything is worse than saying nothing

He read the thread and thinks someone leaked his notes to Mafoofoo and he is trying to figure out who. Also obviously he has to rewrite them now.

I always hope he'll go for the complete nonsense angle in at least one of his interviews.

interviewer: well mr. wilson the season didn't go as planned what changes can we expect?
DW: well today I had orange juice with my toast, bacon and eggs which is a big change since I normally have a small glass of strawberry milk
