Who's more valuable?

Leafs fan, I come in peace. I was wondering since Pegs are on the rise with 3 great players in net, back-end and up front in Kane, Bogosian, and Pavelec. Who would u say is the most untouchable, irreplaceable, valuable player to the Jets organization?

Really tough call, you can go multiple ways with this.

I'm a sucker for defense though and I love Bogosian, so that's the way I went.

Very tough call, but I'd have to go with Bogosian.

Bogosian is the most untouchable/irreplaceable. Kane is the most valuable, both by future contract values and hypothetical trade value. I say that because while I'd prefer for them to build the team from the backend out and see Bogosian as a franchise d-man, elite goalscoring is more at a premium in terms of contract/trade values. In the long-run I think Bogosian may contribute more to the teams success while Kane may contribute more to how we judge the success of the management team; Kane could either be a beloved superstar here, bring in a ridiculously high return in a trade, or demand an unrealistic salary and causes problems.

Amazing how at the beginning of the year, some people were talking about trading Bogosian for draft picks of third line players.

I vote Pavelec but I think Bogosian is right up there in the untouchable status. Pavelec, Bogosian, and Wheeler to me are examples of the kind of hard work and improvement Jets fans and True North values. I like Kane and Ladd and all the rest though, don't get me wrong. Hopefully Kane will mature in the next year or two and get to the next level.

I'd say it is a tie between Kane and Pavelec. We've seen what it is like with Bogo out of the lineup for a long stretch of time, but I would hate to see our team without Kane and Pavelec. We have more depth at the D position than F or G. This alone makes them more valuable to us.

this.

Kane and bogo probably have similar talent levels, but bogo seems like a better "fit".

It should be easier to replace your goalie then any other position simply due to the limited number of starting jobs in the league.
Don't get me wrong, i'd like to see us keep pavs for ever and ever, but of the three i think he's easily the most replaceable.

Bogosian, Pavelec, Wheeler - pick any one of them, as they're all invaluable.

There's also the "intangibles" factor - players such as Ladd, Slater, Wellwood, Antropov who add so much more than their skill sets to the mix.

Pavs for me! I have enjoyed Bogos progression. I just need to see one more solid year with the Jets and I am sold!

That was my thinking too. I love Pavs and don't want to see him go anytime soon, but it would be easier to replace him overall if we had to. Plus, Pasquale is looking like the real deal, so we might have one in the pipeline.

Kane, Bogo, Pavs.

Kane is already our best forward and will eventually be a franchise player IMO.

Bogo looks like he is turning it around. Remember, Bogo was considered by some to be better than Doughty in their draft year. The potential is there.

Pavs is looking pretty good as a starter, but there's still some room for improvement. I think he's a top 15 goalie in the league.

For me it is Bogosian, then Kane then Pavs (very close between Kane and Pavs). I would probably put Wheeler ahead of Kane as far as value now (leadership and talent) but Kane as an asset with four years of restricted status remaining would probably have more market value.

Most valuable, i took Bogosian. He's a big, physical, shut-down dman with lots of offensive in his game. Not many players with the raw skills, size and physical play he brings. And he's getting better. He likes the city and the fans are really behind him.

Kane is a legitimate scoring talent. He might get 40g soon, but needs to add elements to his game. He's getting there too, but there's more growth needed to be a really effective or dominant player, imo.

Pavs makes the highlight save, but might give up 5+ on any given night. For him it's consistency. Some nights, you can just see he's not ready to play. Talent is there, the drive to be the best, each night, that needs some work, imo.

In three years, depending on how these young players develop, their order might be quite different. Either way, i see them as important core guys for the next 4+ yrs - hopefully longer.

Kane, because he is pretty much the only forward we have who is a pure goal-scorer. If we had to replace them, Kane would be the hardest one to replace IMO.

I fully agree with this, unless one of them declares he'd rather play in another city.

If teams had the choice of pilfering one player off our roster, I bet 99 times out of 100 it would be Zach Bogosian.

He is a unique and very rare commodity in the NHL. You can never have too many versatile, skilled, big young defencemen.

Bogo has an aura about him....i get the sense that he's going to keep developing and that he's going to get better and better, regardless of his situation.
Kane ...is a star..but i dont know if he'll ever reach that high ceiling that people see in him
