Lappy retires!

Not that he's been playing recently but He deserves his own thread. One of my favorite avs to play recently, shame he went out like this.

I don't think there is anyone anywhere that could say a bad thing about Lappy. A true warrior and one of my all-time favourite Avs.

Is it a crime if I still wear his jersey to games?

It would be a crime not to wear it.

Great guy great teammate, i'm pretty sure that we'll see him as a coach somewhere sooner that we expect . I know he's in the rumours for Montreal , right now .

One of my favorite Avs of all time. Sad that he had to end his career like that, what a true warrior.

Imagine a 4th line of Lappy - McClement - Hendricks.
Shame really.

Loved the Lappy.

Heart of a lion.

I could see him landing an assistant job very quickly.

A true warrior of the game if there ever was one.

I hope all the best and happiness in his life.

EDIT: and people say that you only "deserve" the Cup after you win it, and I usually agree, but ******* if there is one player who in my view deserved to win it it's Lappy

Man he had it all...The ability to snipe:

and the ability to drop 'em:

But above all, he was a lover not a fighter:

Happy retirement Ian and thanks for all the great memories!

We really got unlucky with untimely injuries to really quality role players

Lappy had his best offensive season with us. That first season he played for us was awesome. Guys like him and Kono were great for us.

I miss Lappy. He was one of the guys I fell in love with when I started watching NHL hockey a few years ago.
What a great but unlucky guy.

I remember finding a jersey card of his on the Kings when I was first getting into hockey, and being upset that the one time I find a cool card it was someone I had never heard of.

Finally when he joined the Avs and I started watching him play more, he became one of my favourite players.

Sad to see him go.
