as a loyal sabres fan i have these thigns to say

with the upcoming prospects of drew stafford clarke mccarthur and dan paille along with derek roy the scoring will pick up..and thats minus dumont satan and a healthy afinogenov

goalie situation..keep norri let miller go he can attract good attention and will be good on a better team

defence wise...tallinder and jeff jillson will handle the load upcoming and that leaves zhitnik to be paired with hopefully rory fitzpatrick so he can develop...

this is my buddies account so...i thought id reply!

Fitzpatrick wont develop anymore. Jillson doesn't look like he'll be able to handle a huge load either.

Stafford and Paille wont help in the scoring department, and Roy is iffy.

Sorry but none of those prospects are going to be first line scorers. Vanek is your best hope regarding prospects that will help your scoring.

Lydman is a top 4 defenseman. He plays 20+ minutes of ice per night. He is also a constant 25 point defenseman and the Flames have used him for shutting down guys like Forsberg. Keep in mind Lydman has ONLY played in the leagu for 4 years on a bad (expect last year) Flames team. Sutter has stated himself he believs Lydman is capable of making the next step. Now the Flames will need to make room for Phaneuf next season.

Leopold - Regehr
Phaneuf - Warrener
Ference - Montador/Eriksison/Commodore

The asking price for Lydman would be a #2 line scoring winger (which Buffalo seems to have a ton of).

My other question is what is Mckee's health status? He should would look nice on the Flames' blueline.

Roy isn't some 3rd line grinder,he can score a bit.

And no,keep Lydman,I would prefer Hecht.

I know it has come up in other threads about a deal of Lydman for Dumont. I like the deal as it helps both teams but with kobasew playing so well now, it sure would be nice to have that extra icetime for him on the RW side. Dumont seems to get a very large share of his goals on the PP, which would be nice for the Flames.

So according to Buffalo's website that leaves them with the following RWs:

Satan
Afinogenov
Kotalik
Grier

Pominville
Bartovic
Milley

So Buffalo is left with 4 solid NHL RWs that can play plus some future room for younger players. Or else maybe a Pyatt + pick for Lydman.

Yes it would but I would not have them on the same line. I would put Warrener (Mr. Steady) with Phaneuf. Warrener is huge for bailing out his partner for making mistakes and Phaneuf will make a few rookie mistakes. Warrener was huge for getting Gautheir out of trouble. I would then put Ference and McKee together. It sure would make a nice defense core.

Leopold - Regehr
Phaneuf - Warrener
Ference - McKee

I'm very familiar with Roy's game. The problem is, i dont think he's going to be a first line player, or contribute all that much to a scoring attack. I think he'll be more of a Curtis Brown type support player. And thats not a bad thing at all, i'd love to have Roy on my favorite team's prospect list.

Roy defininitely has first line potential. Not sure about that assement. The future looks bright in Buffalo.

Buffalo needs one of their goaltenders to establish himself as the #1 guy.Ryan Miller has his opportunity since he is playing during the lockout

Is there the feeling amongst Buffalo fans that Miro Satan will be dealt prior to whenever the next season starts up? Because I recall reading projected lineups a few months back and half of the fans didn't include Satan in them.
