Wouldn't say Italy is overrated this year..

I'd say the winner of the Italy-Germany semifinal will go on and win the championship. Hoping for Germany in the finals but Italy will for sure be a tough nut to crack for the Germans. The two teams play a similar game although I think the Germans got the edge in individuals and depth.

Pirlo sure is boss though, Montolivo showed some sick passing-skills in the first as well. Cassano and Balotelli collaboration is getting better by the hour, so overall a lot of positives.
Italy has grown as a team over the course of the tournament - a true sign of a champion-team. The same can be said for Germany, possibly Portugal, but not Spain.

Therefore I predict the remaining games...

Portugal - Spain 2-1

Germany - Italy 2-1

Germany - Portugal 3-1

They were very offensive today, just couldn't put it away. Had a lot of nice chances though.

How in the world is Germany overrated? What teams have kind of firepower that Germany has? They go undefeated in the group of death, while getting better each an every game. They have looked very dominant at times.

I think he meant Italy and England.

England might have been a bit overrated. They looked really bad against the Italians starting around the 60th minute. They somehow shut down offensively and just tried to get into the penalty shootout (and everybody knows how good they are there ).

Germany vs. Italy will be an interesting one. The Germans never beat Italy at a World or Euro Cup, but if there is a team that can do it, it is the current one.

Disappointed with the result last night but it was a cracking game and a deserved win. England just never win penalty shootouts

Very disappointed in The Germans losing.. They played very hard and had many chances but the Italian goalie kept them in the game throughout the 90 minutes. They simply ran out of time.. I still am not sold on the Italians. Spain wins again!

Just like in 06', if you ever managed to get by Nesta and Cannavaro (Bonucci and Chiellini this year) you still got Buffon to beat.

Deserved win by the Italians, they played a great game through 90 minutes and kept the Germans on the outside. Really hoping they can pick up where they left off today in the finals on sunday. Can't stand the Spaniards..

Pirlo, player of the tournament by a far margin.

I rarely cheer for Italy, but Pirlo is just such a great player that I'd love for him to win the Euro. It's basically the only thing he has yet to win in his career.

I agree, Pirlo is the best player of this tournament. No doubt, Italy deserved to win this one. A tough loss to swallow for Germany as everyone here expected them to at least get into the final. Especially tough for the players from Bayern Munich as they lost out on no less than four (!) titles in the course of only a few months.

As for the final: this is a tough one to predict. Based solely on the perfomance in this tournament so far, Italy should win it all. But then again, anything can happen in one game and I wouldn't count out Spain. I predict a very close game, possibly going into overtime and a penalty shootout and Italy winnig the title.

Spain 2, Italy 0 at half time. The Italians are a far cry from what they played against Germany.

Final: Spain 4, Italy 0. Congratulations to Spain for winning the Euro 2012! The Italians were no match today, even before being one man short, they were totally outplayed by Spain.
