No thanks. Carlson or no deal.

No deal. Proven young #1 d-men are not often for sale in this League.

That is worth strongly considering, but it's not a deal that is a must do. I would try to get Carlson involved as that is who we would ideally want and being that the 1st overall is on the line you can usually shake free something that a team would not normally be willing to trade.

If I was Tambellini I would put that one on the back burner, and hope another team offers more. When I ultimately decide whether to take it or not it would be more a determination of when I think the current core will be ready to challenge for the playoffs and have a deep run and project how Green will fit on that team. I'd also have to talk to Green before hand and make sure he is interested in playing for the Oilers and discuss the basic framework for what he wants in terms of $ and years on his next contract. If everything lined up I think I would hesitantly take that deal.

The thing is that we're in no rush to trade for #1 OA. I mean, it's not Yak or die for us, we're pretty good where we are now.

When did Neuvirth lose his starting job? He was injured.

Washington gives way too much. Picks aren't worth nearly as much as fans of lottery teams on these boards seem to think. Carlson is a great young player, and what happens in Washington if they trade Neuvy and Holtby isn't actually ready to play a full season with 60+ starts?
