The lack of parity in European Football was always one of the biggest turnoffs for me. I've learned a bunch about a handful of Euro teams because nobody talks about the other teams.

I was thinking about trying to get into the MLS this upcoming season.

I feel North American leagues force parity for the sake of parity, it creates boring matches and dilutes the talent pool.

I don't think it could be any more obvious from these quotes that this is just a situation where people grew up in a different atmosphere and have a different philosophy.

Yeah there are dominant teams. But people can still go to a soccer game between let's say, Stoke City and Hull City or fill in the blank bottom feeder and see that they leave it all on the field. And the level of play is just VASTLY superior to MLS which I still scratch my head at how slow and how lacking in fundamentals it is.

Sweden losing and out of WC. Boy do some of those teams wish they were in North American Grouping!

Sky sports reporter is saying Xavi may sign with RBNY after the World Cup. Would be the most significant signing in MLS since Henry.

Xavi's still one of the better midfielders in the world. That would be huge.

The U.S. national team plans to play one of its three World Cup warm-up friendlies at Red Bull Arena, multiple sources have told SI.com. The game likely would take place either May 27 or June 1.

If finalized, the match would be the national team’s second visit to the Harrison, N.J., stadium. The U.S. lost to Ecuador in October 2011 in coach Jurgen Klinsmann’s fifth game at the helm.

If some of you who like the sport but not our local team haven't yet been to the Stadium, it's worth a visit. Beautiful inside and out.

Olympiacos v Milan at Citi Field on July 24.
Manchester City v Liverpool at Yankee Stadium on July 30.

Decent match ups this year for New York, wish the better game was at Citi Field though. Much better sight lines for soccer.

To be fair to the BPL, as far as parity goes, you have to remember there's no playoffs. The first place team is the champion and when you look at the standings there's 5 teams with a legit shot out of 20 which is 25%. If you apply the same rule to hockey, there's a clear cut 7 teams with a shot at the Presidents Trophy out of 30, which is roughly 23%.

Furthermore, parity is still evident in English soccer. Look no further to last week Wigan defeating Manchester City in the FA cup. Or if you want to look at the standings, look at Liverpool vs. Man Utd. last year vs. this year.

That's another thing, ****ing Wigan man. Pretty much their entire existence is being a pain in the ass in the FA Cup

Got my tickets to City-LFC at the Stadium. When do tickets for the game at Citi come out? Only interested because I want to see Mario play. Prob a good chance he doesn't though.
