With all the Thomas threads, and the possibility of these two leaving, the LF defcon level has been turned down a notch...for now.

Get it done Chia!

Hope its not an overpayment a la David Jones.

Rather have someone like MacD step into the Campbell role.

But love that Cage will be back.

Don't see it being more than 4.5 combined to be honest. Anything above is overpayment.

I was worried about Kelly. He's like our sixth man.

Pouliot seems done here- forwards all set, defense pretty much all set- all Chiarelli has to do no is sit down (if he already hasn't) is work out Thomas landing spot, Tuukka's deal at about 3yrs/4 per and they can do the draft, get the kids in here later in the month and take a few weeks off before getting ready for camp in September.

Team is pretty well set if this is true- Bourque, Caron, Knight, Spooner, MacDermid and Sauve will be some of the boys fighting for the final two forward spots.

Very deep and solid all over

hopefully they get atleast a second for Tim and he goes to Colorado or San Jose and the parties are happy and or satisfied

Agreed. It's not that I don't like these 2 guys, but I just don't think the value will be right. But we'll wait and see.

Honestly, I think 4.5 is too much.

2.5 for Kelly
1.5 for Campbell

That's about all I'd do, but I wouldn't be terribly upset if they went another 250-300k on Kelly.

probably have never agreed with anything you've posted, but this is close. campbell a bit too high and kelly a shade too low. but $4M is about right.

I'm fully expecting Kelly to get around 2.75-3 per and soupy to get somewhere around 1.2-1.5 per. I would be okay with that....I would prefer that Kells got no more than 2.5, but whattayagonnado?

I trust PC and I am so happy he resignes em both. GC might be not the best player, but I like him as a person and his attitude.
And Kelly ... he is just awesome. Definitely one of the best 3rd-liners in the game.

And don't mean to be a grammar Nazi, but re-sign and resign mean very different things.
Even if the 4th line costs over 4 million bucks?

If he can work it out to have a full, contending roster under the cap, I don't care less what the fourth line gets.

If Kelly left he would return to Ottawa but since the Bruins are a more solid team it would be a little odd.

I did say much earlier that I expected Kelly or Campbell to be Montreal bound. Glad it is not to happen if this is true.

Not to be the turd in the punchbowl, but it would be foolish to assume Horton will be able to play like a top line winger next season. I'm also not convinced he'd do well in a checking role. Caron likely gets that spot.

If I'm Chia, I attempt to move Horton as well. He's a warrior, but damaged. If he can get a top-line talent, I don't see where Horton fits at this stage.

Horton has a no trade clause.
