I will try to answer your question after that game

(yes I know teams have bad games)
Sorry for answering your question, but if you ask an obvious question, you'll get an obvious answer.
I wasn't trying to be patronizing or anything, but I don't know what kind of response you were hoping for.

The team was just burnt out... that's 10 games now running 3 lines with the depth guys carrying the load. Once Nate/Jo/Marty get back, this team will start rolling.

With all that talent gone, they have taken 17 of 20 points from the opposition... that's pretty impressive if you ask me (2 loses in a row be damned).

I don't expect the Mooseheads to be as hot in the 2nd half as they were in the first, but I can be wrong....

Of course you wouldn't... that doesn't surprise me at all.

I am just looking at the scenario where actually other teams would have loaded up and give the Moose a fit once in a while....always possible, isn't it?

And the trade deadline hasn't passed yet and Moose still have a move to make.

Also curious which teams have "loaded up"... Quebec has been the most active but you can hardly consider the players they have added as championship caliber.

Rimouski for Gagne
BLB for Tesink.

The trading period is far from over.

Willy Palov ‏@CH_WillyPalov
Halifax has acquired Matt Murphy + Sherbrooke's 2014 2nd round pick from Val-D'Or for Randy Gazzola, Quebec's 2014 1st and Hfx's 2015 1st.

Interesting... I would have figured Hardie would have been the guy on the way out.

According to Willy... this was "Plan A".

He's certainly an upgrade... More firepower.

This forces QC and BLB's hand, Moose will need a depth guy or 2.

I'd say more reliability than more firepower. Definitely an upgrade and a guy we'll have for another couple years.

Interesting, I'm curious to know why Val d'Or would move such a young guy who seems like a quality dman?

He requested a trade.

Anyone know more on a possible trade involving Gazzolla and Matt Murphy?

It's an excellent move. Should be around for 3 more years.

Very true first point, still adds though.. A PP of:
Drouin-Nate-Frk
KA-Murphy

Is very scary.

Yeah my browser/Internet decided to have a brain fart. Even though I like Gazola this sounds like a pretty good upgrade.

He's an upgrade on the depth chart in the long term but I don't think that he's ready yet to have a big role on a contender.

Very good point, he will certainly get exposure now, we will see what he's made of.

Losing Gillard and Gazzola, I think that Halifax got quite weaker defensively.

I hope for you guys that you get someone to help tomorrow.

Murphy will not have the impact of a Gazzola this season but yes for the seasons to come he will have a great impact.

Certainly an earth shaker.

I've really grown to like Gazzola, as it felt like after every game I'd sing his praises lol. sucks to see him go, even if he was wearing down. Still could've been used on our blueline but I guess Val-d'Or needed an immediate replacement. We have 5 great players that could be overagers next season, so to get value for one of them now is nice.

As for Murphy, I think he's an upgrade, or just as good as Gazzola. What I liked about Gazzola is he never panicked with the puck, and played good D ... Murphy sometimes makes the bad decision with the puck. Obviously a terrific all-around player, I don't think he's prime for top pairing duty yet.

Something along the lines of

KA - Lewis
Murphy - Weegar
Hardie - Duke
Lovell

Have the moves the last three days made us better for this year? Yes and no. Overall we lost two D on a team that could use it, I'm not saying we were bad in that department, but Gillard was a great defensive d-man. But we gained a great two-way D who we'll have for years to come, and a heart and soul player with offensive abilities.

Cam has a plan for this year and next, which I like, but would also like to see a championship this season, so I'm skeptical of Murphy's impact.

On the plus side we have 4 of the top 11 picks in the 2011 draft, and three of the top five. Pretty impressive, in addition to two top 10 Euro picks this summer and a good looking team for next season.
