8-2 Without their entire top line isn't bad if you ask me. But a team 32-4-2-1 do you actually see the odds of losing 2 straight.
(yes I know teams have bad games)
Sorry for answering your question, but if you ask an obvious question, you'll get an obvious answer.
I wasn't trying to be patronizing or anything, but I don't know what kind of response you were hoping for.
I've really grown to like Gazzola, as it felt like after every game I'd sing his praises lol. sucks to see him go, even if he was wearing down. Still could've been used on our blueline but I guess Val-d'Or needed an immediate replacement. We have 5 great players that could be overagers next season, so to get value for one of them now is nice.
As for Murphy, I think he's an upgrade, or just as good as Gazzola. What I liked about Gazzola is he never panicked with the puck, and played good D ... Murphy sometimes makes the bad decision with the puck. Obviously a terrific all-around player, I don't think he's prime for top pairing duty yet.
Something along the lines of
KA - Lewis
Murphy - Weegar
Hardie - Duke
Have the moves the last three days made us better for this year? Yes and no. Overall we lost two D on a team that could use it, I'm not saying we were bad in that department, but Gillard was a great defensive d-man. But we gained a great two-way D who we'll have for years to come, and a heart and soul player with offensive abilities.
Cam has a plan for this year and next, which I like, but would also like to see a championship this season, so I'm skeptical of Murphy's impact.
On the plus side we have 4 of the top 11 picks in the 2011 draft, and three of the top five. Pretty impressive, in addition to two top 10 Euro picks this summer and a good looking team for next season.
