Yes, you could say that.

Willy said no more deals for the Moose this trade period basically.

He will have just as big an impact imo.

Very true first point, still adds though.. A PP of:
Drouin-Nate-Frk
KA-Murphy

Is very scary.
Frk normally plays point on unit one.

Drouin - Nate - Fournier
Frk - KA (for one timer, play on off side)

Things will change for unit two now with these moves but....

Ashley - Ciampini - Boudreau (Ashley takes draw usually)
Weegar - Murphy

Tough day is right... Poor guy... Gonna miss Gazzola's steady play... Sounded like a real team player too.

@RGazzola24
Just want to thank @HFXMooseheads for the opportunity to be apart of a great organization. Really going to miss the fans, staff, and the

Boys. It really was an honour to be here in Halifax and to meet such great people. This is really the toughest time of the year but best of

Luck guys. That being said looking forward to the new challenges and meeting everybody in @LesForeurs #ThankyouMooseCountry #HelloForeurs

Err. Murphy has more points on a worse team than Gazzola, and is 2 years younger. From what I hear he does play physical as well. He's an upgrade on Gazzola. Most of us think the 2 1sts are steep, but not much difference between Quebec's 1st rounder and Sherbrooke's 2nd. Gazzola was also a free agent. So we pretty much picked up a franchise dman for a little more than a 2014 1st rounder, which isn't bad at all.

I agree that Gillard is a loss, but MacAulay is worth it. We're better today than we were on Saturday.

Lancette tweeted that he thinks one of those picks will be returned for a future... And that there's a few options...

I thought Gazzola was pretty poor defensively vs PEI in mid december. It was like watching a forward who just switched to D

I never had anything bad to say about Gazzola, as for a free agent he exceeded expectations big time and was solid in doing so.

As for the deals this weekend it certainly gives them a good D corps for next season...

Murphy - Weegar
Lewis - Hardie
Lovell - Euro

Still ranked #1 in the CHL. Pretty impressive considering all the time our first line missed with the World Jrs and Abeltshauser missed some time with the injury.

Let's not forget the two games Fucale missed due to family matters (do NOT make a joke out of this...). I know it's only two games but still, thats two games.

Who would ever make a joke about a death in a persons family? I don't understand...

No no no, not at that. I meant it at that one of the many smart***** on here would make a joke about the show "Family Matters".. and considering the circumstances with what happened in his family I wanted to make sure that it didn't happen. And honestly, when I wrote that post I never even thought the wording would give off that message because it just never crossed my mind that someone would be THAT low as to joke about death.

Im sorry for any confusion.

Congrats to Stephen MacAulay getting his first goal (also got an assist too) as a Moosehead. Matt Murphy also got his first point as a Moosehead with an assist.

The Boudreau/Chiampini/Ashley line continues to rip it up!

Has anyone seen Murphy enough to make some kind of comparison for him in terms of playing style?

That's fine, as long as the guns are out. I'm a Sea Dogs + a NJD fan. Just going to be entertained, see Tesink and MacAulay too* + get a scouting report on Matteau

Does that leave us with five defense for tonight?
We've got Abeltshauser, Murphy, Lewis, Lovell and Hardie. Provencher maybe?

No, they've signed Brennan Bailey from Pictou (MHL).

Not only should the first line get an ovation for their return but the entire team should get an ovation with how well the played while missing their top stars. A record of 9-1-1 without MacKinnon, Drouin, Frk, and Albethauser for part of it is a very impressive feat. Guys like Ashley, Duke, Weegar, Boudreau, Ryan and Beauchemin have really turned it up in their absence. The leaders in Lewis and Fournier kept a tight running ship. Then you had guys like Lovell embrace any opportunity they were given (playing a few games forward).

I'm very happy as a Moosehead fan atm, they have shown tremendous depth and preservation. They will be a difficult team come playoff time to be matched against.

I think Beauchemin was the biggest benefactor of the extra ice time. He has shown to be much more than a 4th liner and could fill in on any line in case of injury.

That's a tough one to argue against for sure. He played great in every role he was given. Six goals, seven assists for thirteen points in ten games is very impressive. Especially considering he had six points in twenty-two games prior to that. It's too bad he's 19 already though, he would be nice to slot into the top six with likely MacKinnon and Frk leaving, Drouin potentially too.
