If you remembered that 3rd period against Canada, you wouldn't be lumping 2002 as one of his best moments.

why hasn't there been a world cup since 04, it would make sense to put it every 4 years inbetween the olympics

that way every 2 years we get our fix, instead of every 4 years

was this the idea with the original canada cup, how did it come about

what do you mean BESIDES? wasn't that his only international play unless you want to dig up his pre-NHL international play.

1991 Canada Cup, 1998 Olympics. He was the USA #1 for a decade

Because we have shortsighted idiots running the league and nhlpa. IIHF is always open to it. NHL not so much. :-(

Gretz's D was questionable in a few situations, what a floater!

Great games, those two teams were incredibly stacked.

I know we all agree that Mike Richter was one fantastic goaltender. As ranger fans I think we have come to expect excellence especially in the modern era with Beezer, Richter and Henrik.

I went to the USA vs Slovakia quarterfinals game at MSG. USA won 9-3 and I was disappointed that Richter didn't play.

Other than the 96 World Cup (as the OP stated), it has to be 2002. Richter was phenomenal.

Don't forget about the immortal Mike Dunham.

Richter in the 96' world cup was at the top of his game. The more they came at him the better he played. Amazing to watch.
