I am suprised by the amount of Granlund - Koivu - Heatley top lines. Why would you have 2 setup guys with 1 aging shooter?

Well, I would atleast spread my top setup guys (granted 1 is unproven in the NHL) out.

Heatley - Koivu - Lats

Seto - Cullen - Granlund/PMB

Depending on trades and injury status I would probably do something like that.

Putting Granlund with Koivu and Heatley gives him a great chance to succeed. Two consistent players who are solid defensively. Putting him with guys like Cullen and Setoguchi would be a disaster, as they are completely hit or miss.

This is probably the only reason why I would support a Heatley-Koivu-Granlund line. As strange as it sounds, this is the best way to offer him "protected" minutes.
