Patrice Brisebois named player development coach

http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/341553.html

His role within the organisation is still unknown.

I hope it won't be as a D man!

Sorry, perfect candidate.

"Everything I did....just do the opposite and you'll be fine".

Habs are wise. A little for RDS.....a little for TVASports....

Come on guys, Brisebois ended his career as one of the top point-getting defensemen of this organization's history. He must have done something right.

I guess he could do a decent job as a 6th-7th defenseman.

Why? I think he'd be perfect.

Well he did coached in the Quebec-Montreal series in which he started a feud with Bob Hartley haha. Funny because we were talking about it today at work... Don't know if I'd like it.

I don't particularly like brisebois but the guy had major balls to come back to montreal after being booed out of town. Much respect for the guy.

If he's coming in as an assistant coach, people can't look at how he played and assume he'll be terrible behind the bench. If that's how things worked, Gretzky would still be behind the Coyotes bench and he'd be a perennial Jack Adams winner.

Indeed.

Having the career he had carrying an 800 pounds gorilla around at all times is quite impressive, anyway. He wasn't a bad player. I mean, what the hell can you do with you're paired with CHRISTIAN LAFLAMME?!?

I doubt he's in as assistant coach though, unless Therrien knows something we don't.

Yeah, much respect. He was not my favourite player but I'm sure he will be OK in a small role with the team.
