I'm pretty sure Philly is looking for a RH PMD. Sothe might be interested in them.

Though I still feel a

Clowe + Boyle

For

JVR + Mezaros

Would Benifit both teams.

In anycase, good to have Stuart back. Some lucky fans out there dusting off their old Stuart jerseys.

Stuey is a warrior, tough as nails, and blocks tons of shots. I couldn't be happier unless he signed today.

Personally I woud lke to see DW keep D Murray now. If you can get Murray to his old form, (where he just went out and hit people with deminished ice time) it would be a nice core D.

What makes you think that? Every team is looking for depth d-men who have speed and play responsible two-way hockey. In regards to Philly, grabbing a guy like Braun would be very beneficial. They could use a right handed shot with some offensive prowess on their PP.

This team is already got plenty of size and strength. This team is slow and that's the real problem. Slotting both Murray and Stuart in the same lineup is a bad recipe for this team. Stuart is every bit as physical and aggressive as Murray and if they find a deal where they trade him for a 2nd round pick to add some youth to the organization, they have to do it.

Words can't describe how disappointed I am that we lost Stuart. Losing Lidstrom was one thing, but now our defense went from swiss cheese to pylon level. Stuart is captain consistent, you know what you'll get from him on a nightly basis. Great player, and probably worth overspending a little for, but I doubt you'll have to worry about that now.

Size and strength doesn't do much if it doesn't have the other half of the equation - aggression & intensity. 11-12 Clowe is an example of this.

You can have aggressive play without massive size - they're not mutually inclusive.

Stuart on parting with Red Wings: "Iím a better player because of my time there." If no deal cut w/#Sjsharks, he says he'd consider return.

Stuart on trade to #sjsharks: "I donít know if itís going to be my final NHL contarct, but I hope it is my final destination."

Rights to Stuart for what amounts no nothing if he doesn't sign, and a 7th if he does.

I like it.

DW should bring back Sturm! Then it'd be like we got Jumbo for Primeau straight up!

If we ended up winning the cup that would be pretty amazing. Haha.

Too bad Boston won it first

So what kind of contract do you think Stewie gets? I'm guessing 4 years at $15 mil

I'm thinking he'll get 3/12. I don't like that tag, but we all know DW will pay him.

... Can we actually bring back Marco please?

I'm hoping the contract averages out to about $3M per for 3 years, but maybe he'll take a little less for an NMC.

He's not going to get that much. He should see something along the lines of 3 years, 9 million with an NMC.

That's what I was thinking. It takes Stuey out to 35, and gives him confidence that he will stay in SJ (can't even be waived). Also, he won't be expected to play top pairing here, so there is some argument (along with the NMC) for bringing his salary down a bit. If DW manages to bring Stuart in for say a $2.5 x 4 deal with the NMC, even I would have to him props.

I think it'll be above $3m, closer to $4m.

Cap is rising, Stuart is still a very reliable, top 4minute-capable defenseman and he is 1 month from being able to test the waters as UFA.

Sure, we know he wants to come closer to family and SJ is the perfect fit, but I don't think that's going to be the key factor on the terms.

My guess:

3 years/$10 million with a limitied NMC i.e. Stuart can choose 5 destinations.
