Timo Seppa who is an editor (I think) for Hockey Prospectus (using advanced numbers and such) predicted Kings in 6. Just like he predicted Red Wings in 6, Penguins in 7, and Bruins in 7 the last 3 years.

Need to see more from Brown and Richards. Stoll is due for a goal, he's come so close the past few games. Two of those three will score tonight.

Hold your ground, hold your ground! Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you *stand, Men of the West!*

Gagne and/or Brown hat trick

Actually, I think Voynov owes the team a goal or two

I won't be picky though. A win is a win.

Some more weird stats out there: no team has won more than 4 elimination games on the way to winning the Cup. Devils have already won 4 and need to win 6 to win the Cup.

We can do this. My eyes watered watching that stupid EA Sports simulation of the Kings winning on NHL.com this morning, hoping for some more waterworks tonight.

GO KINGS!

And here's a motivational video for kicks:

That feels like it can't be right. That would mean that no team has ever come back from being down 3-2 in any series to win the cup?

EDIT: Ah I see, you mean where the eventual cup winner could be eliminated.

Sure. You could be down 3-2, come back to win 4-3 in two different series. You'd only have faced elimination for 4 games. Generally, teams winning don't have to come back from multiple deficits like this.

Yeah I get it now, I plead momentary insanity due to lack of cup win...

Simon gagne was driving me nuts last game. Seriously, Brad Richardson is much more effective at this point. I haven't looked at the rosters but I don't know what the coach sees in Gagne if he is playing again. Not that he is the reason the Kings have lost but he hasn't really contributed anything that I've seen.

The Bruins were the ones who did it, and it was just last year.

Yeah. But to counter that, in the Finals the team leading 3-0 has...
Won Game 4: 20
Won Game 5: 3
Won Game 6: 0
Won Game 7: 1
Lost Game 7: 1

Time for MORE History to be made!

That would only require winning 2 elimination games. He is talking about the entire playoffs, how many times a team has won when facing elimination. For example the Kings are currently at 0 since they have not faced elimination...the Devils have faced elimination 4 times already (vs FLA games 6 and 7, and vs LA games 4 and 5), winning all 4. But it would require winning 6 elimination games to win the Cup, and no team has ever won the Cup having faced elimination more than 4 times.

Irrational? Tell that to the Devils fans that sat in front of me Saturday night. Clenching their holy water bottle... and sprinkling it on the seats in front of them during intermission (occupied by fellow Kings fans).

At first my wife thought they smuggled in a bottle of vodka, until she saw the cross and "Holy Water" written on it. Doesn't make sense to me.

You might have a different outlook if Trevor Lewis had any finish whatsoever. That was a perfect flip pass onto his stick by Gagne for that breakaway that would have made it 1-0 Kings.

Agree 100%.

The one glaring thing to me that we gave up when we swapped Gagne for Richardson was Richardson's board work on the forecheck and how fast he gains position. That kid's stick work and speed around the O-zone boards is missing BADLY. Yeah, Gagne has more natural skill in the open ice but Richardson's tenacious forecheck is sorely missed.

I dont like Gagne being in at this point. Not at all.

People forget that the 4th line was being eaten alive territorialily with Richardson in. He was switched out because they weren't getting it done.

The Kings aren't going to win or lose because of Brad Richardson.

Much more subdued crowd here at LA Live, thank God for that. Wednesday was a zoo here. Much better perspective now...but maybe too subdued, almost as we are down 3-2 rather than up.

As far as the game goes, I am thinking (hoping) for a breakout game tonight...jump on them hard as they did in game 5, but this time finish our chances.

The Kings have not scored in the first period three games in a row...it is time to remedy that, and I again am hoping for an extended lead tonight.
