Stalberg gets **** on so much cuz a huge chunk of his goal production was against the blue jackets and he did sweet **** all in the playoffs against the yotes, but so did pretty much the rest of the team and the last time I checked Columbus is still part of the NHL. **** what everyone else thinks Stalberg is a keeper right now and compared to the rest of the overpaid ****s in this league he is a bargain to boot.

I'd trade Stalberg while his value is at his peak (productive and cheap), but Mr. Stan-d Pat disagrees.

What/who do you trade him for? With how cheap he is for at least one more year, I keep him. We don't exactly have the depth to deal with not having him, and not sure I'd want to rely on a replacement for him, Saad, and Shaw next year. Too much youth to hope they pan out for a team that should be a contender.

Yeah, I don't get it either. They know he is going to accept that, and he will likely get double that... So why waste the time even offering it, and possibly pissing him off?

I would include Stalberg in a package. You won't replace his production by trading him by himself.

Eh, easier said than done. I'd rather keep him for one more year at his cheap cost, and hope he helps us have a Cup run.

Never said it would be a lock to happen. If I were Bowman and an available top-six center became available, if I wanted to make an offer, I would not hesitate to include Stalberg in my offered package if one of the requirements of the return was a winger.

If you can do that, then sure, do it. That, or maybe pair him up with Hammer for an upgrade on D.

I'd trade Stalberg mid season when we know if a prospect can match his production (like Versteeg did)

I would not want him with a 3+ Cap Hit.

Andrej Meszaros to lose at least half of the season with surgery to his Achilles tendon. Sucks for the Flyers but I'm guessing some team with a decent and cheap d-man can score some very good prospects or picks with this injury.

Don't see any useful roster players coming back though.

Man, Phillys D is a mess.

Coburn - Timonen
Schenn - Grossman
Gervais - Lilja

No top pairing Dman
2nd pairing is really a 3rd pairing on a playoff team
3rd pairing should be in the AHL

Have fun with that, Philly!

I imagine they will bring Kubina back to help that 3rd pairing.

Timonen is certainly a top-pairing defenseman, but yeah, Philly's definitely in pretty tough.

Just finished playing some pick up hockey with Greg McKegg, Leafs prospect. Guys got some dirty hands on him, and pretty quick skater too. Well compared to the rest of us anyway.

Per Bob McKenzie, Jeff Skinner is expected to sign a 6 year extension with Carolina for $5,725m AAV. That's a pretty good chunk of change. I wonder where that will put the deals for Eberle, Hall, and Seguin - who are also going into the last year of the ELCs.

this really is some bad news for the oilers. I'm sure they wanted to keep them that long and for a bit less each. Good for Skinner and the Canes to keep this great player. Good that he plays in the East

Edmonton will have no problem paying Hall, RNH, and Eberle.
