The NHL is a business, and a corrupt one at that. Don't be surprised about the presence of backdoor strings. I refused to genuinely congratulate King's fans on this accomplishment. Not only are the majority of them on this forum arrogant, but they wouldn't do the same thing towards us if we won. **** them. There is no value in winning the stanley cup with the Refs at your side. There were WAY too many questionable calls in FAVOR of the Kings all playoffs long. For humanity's sake, I hope we all wake up tomorrow and realize that this was all just a horrible, horrible dream.
If I was running the joint and wanted to maximize profits why the hell would I fix it so that there's no game 7?
Guys, I know it's tough tonight, but I wanted to drop by and say how impressed I was with your team and fans throughout this series. The Devils are a class organization and deserved 100% to be there. They gave our Kings all they could handle and more. We Kings fans who have been around a while know how easily the Devils could have taken games 1 and 2, and had they, the Devils would have hoisted the Cup.
Like I said, I know it's tough, but congrats on a great year and I hope you have a deep run next year as well.
Haha a Kings fan trying to be classy. Dichotomy! Get the hell out of here, and just don't say a word to any of us. Your intentions are good, but you don't realize that most of us don't want to talk to a King's fan until the next time we play you, now leave.

You had a great run with several fantastically dramatic games and you will have undeniable bragging rights over Philly and Rangers for a year. I really liked the workman like look of your team, rolling 4 lines all the way through and loved the über aggressive forechecking especially against Flyers and Rangers. Maybe Parise will sign, Marty will be up for it for a one more run and young players will continue to develop.
By the way, any news on what was bothering Kovalchuk?

Reason: question
More then likely the refs were just dumb dumb dumb. They called an abysmal game. Really boo on the media (though what can you expect from NBC really...) for not pointing it out. At least you can tell who they were rooting for.

Kovy wouldn't say, but the rumor is he had a herniated disc in his back.

Uhhh, I'm going to overlook this post and say some words to the longtime Devils posters and fans.
At the end of the day, the Devils were easily the best team the Kings have played in the playoffs and in many ways appeared to be their mirror image. Hell, games 1, 2, 4, and 5 were basically coinflip games and the Devils could have very easily been the ones raising the cup. Keep your head-up guys, you have some great fans and a first class organization.

God, just watching Kovy's interview it sucks ass that we couldn't have him at 100%. Imagine that guy's impact if he was coming down on the D at full strength..
This is why you can't be down 3-0. Games like this happen where a bogus call happen or something ridiculous and you leave yourself no margin of error.
Split the first 2 at home and we are singing a different tune on the board.
agreed. the players will have learned this too, and if we find ourselves down 0-2 in a series next year they will come out blazing in game 3 rather than putting up a clunker like they did in this series.
don't forget that despite the fact that we have a ton of veterans, many of them had never gotten very far at all into the playoffs before this year. it was a learning experience that will make all of them better and even hungrier now that they came so close. it's not much of a silver lining, but it's there.

Thanks... Wish I could say more but it's too fresh still. And I'd be lying if I said it didn't feel like the pity posts from last season. I know you're being mature and I appreciate it, but it still hurts.
This stings, ****ing stings. I have a hard time believing that the Frasers and vanMassenhovens of years past would have allowed a game like this. 47 - 6? Really?
Ok, miss the Gio hit, fine. Ok, call a 5min major, grrrrrr, but fine but then let Pancake Man do a Super Fly Jimmy when the whistle finally came? That was an all out FAIL wrapped in a crap burger moment. You have to recognize the impact of your actions in such big stage at a critical moment. I mean really, why have two refs if they are both going to blow the calls. At the very least I would have accepted a 4 on 4 for 2min then the resulting PP for 3min.
I won't say they were bought or nudged by Bettman or anything nonsensical like that but the human factor of officiating was on full display.
