If only there were delayed sprays for outside. As in you can set it, run back inside and be safe when the spray goes off .

I read the one line in the wiki article,

Quote:
and it is not considered safe to approach the nest for observation purposes. The bald-faced hornet will aggressively attack with little provocation.
and thinking to myself "uhhhh oops" because I was only a few feet away when I took those pictures. They didn't seem too concerned about my presence though, strangely.

I'll post more pics once I spray it and cut it open.

Spray? **** that. You need this:

Edit: Oh, you're gonna go after that? Do it at dusk, and be ready to run like a bat out of hell. I'd personally use 2-3 cans of poison just to be utterly sure.

I wish I had a tank with a flame thrower. The neighbors probably wouldn't like that though. I'm gonna do it tonight at some point. It looks like there's only one way in or out of the hive, and that's the hole on the front. So what I'm hoping will happen is that when I spray, the initial dozen or so that die will block up that hole to prevent the rest of them from getting out, and then the poison can just do the rest.

That hornet's nest looked like the one in the movie Apocalypto...I would wrap it in a bed sheet and release it against Leighton and Shelley...only way to drive them out

Felix "The King" Hernandez is through 8 innings of a perfect game. If ya have it tune into the MLB network, they will go to the game when he is back up to pitch.

I'm....not....dead....yet...!

Anyway, I did spray last night. There was still about 15-20 of them sitting on the outside of the hive, which I found really strange. Only reason I could think of as to why this would be is because there's not enough room for all of them to fit inside. Scary.

The spray I was using really sucked, because it didn't foam all that much. So I just did what I could and ran like hell. When I checked this morning, sure enough, there was a trail of dead ones falling out of the hole, but there were still some active going in and out of the hive. I'm going out tonight to soak the entire thing and hopefully that will be that.

Forget spray, forget a tank, I think it's time you called in some HEAVY artillery.
