The 10:14 Amtrak is fine of course, but you'll get to Union Station at 10:50, then take red line to 7th / Metro, and it'll be around 11:15 or so. I'm not taking a chance that Figueroa will be ultra crowded by 11:30 - parade starts at 12:00, right? I'm guessing a HUGE crowd - better be safe than sorry.

Yeah, parking at Fullerton Station does suck after the 6:18 train - all the spots at the station are full. I'm not even sure where to park that late, somewhere north of Commonwealth I guess.

Maybe I'll see you guys tomorrow am.
I've got tickets to the rally so I am going to be able to get into Chick Hearn court for the ending of the parade.

To be honest, don't really care about the parade all that much, went to the Lakers in 2000 and didn't see squat. Don't expect too much and you will enjoy the parade more.

Thanks for the tip, I'll do that. Much appreciation.

I'm fully down for this if it happens, I'll check the thread out tomorrow. I had a good friend get me a nice spot in 119. So excited! Way better than a game cause we don't have the stress of whether it will end well or not

Hope this is the first of many championship rallies for us!

This thread all the sudden....for a minute anyway....became an episode of "The Californians". Haha

Just had to land in Lubbock for a medical emergency. Woman passed out on the plane.

Now I'm going to get to LAX two hours later.

Hopefully traffic isn't too bad from LAX to Staples.

Hurray, we're rallying!

Since this is a rally, would everyone like to meet up? Maybe lets say 2PM at Wayne Gretzky's statue as the rally point?

I'll be dressed in GREEN. (St. Patty green, not Nuck green)

I have a stack of Round 4 towels so anyone who is HF, I can give you one in person along with a copy of LA Times, the day after paper. (after the rally event, since I don't want to carry 20 pounds on me all day)

Hopefully see you all there...I'll have my phone on me so I'll be able to check HF messages on there.

Folks... everyone loves a parade. It's going to be a mess if you drive. You're FAR better off parking for free at a metro park and ride lot and taking the subway/train.

http://www.metro.net/interactives/go_metro/

That map shows where there are park and ride lots and whether they are free or pay.

The 7th St. Metro Center stop on the red and purple lines and Pico stop on the blue or expo lines are closest to Staples Center. 15 minute walk to Staples from the 7th st stop and 5 minutes from Pico.

The trains during the day are very safe. I wouldn't normally recommend the blue line given the areas it travels through, but it should be fine during a weekday.

If anyone needs a ticket today let me know, I might be able to get an extra one. I won't know until I'm down there though.

The least I could do for all your work with the GDT's. Have a blast! I can't make it there today but the next time you're at a game I'll take you up on that beer.

All: Multiple stations are carrying the parade coverage - notably NHL Network, KTLA, NBC4 and FSN. I'd suggest recording the FSN coverage given it will for sure include the rally inside Staples Center. Not sure about the others (may just be the parade)
