Kovalchuk deserves a lot of credit for leading the team in scoring despite being gimped up for three out of four rounds.

I have to go with Salvador. Marty was so and so. He had big games but a couple of awful ones too.

Salvador and Marty. It's a definite tie.

HM to Henrique and Zajac.

Agreed. Hard to say he "didn't show up for the round" when he was the best player on the ice in the elimination games 6 and 7.

You have a goalie who goes out of his way to play the puck; he's going to make mistakes.

For every mistake he makes, he makes what, 20 good plays with the puck that kill the opposing forecheck?

It's a worthwhile tradeoff.

Marty playing the puck singlehandedly killed the Flyers forecheck. I'd say it was worth it.

Yes he does. Had he been properly utilized he very well may have been my MVP but we'll never know.

Trying is not doing, and what Pete was doing with him really had him trying too hard imo.

Sometimes less is more? At any rate I look forward to a healthy Kovy in next year's playoffs.

Not disagreeing. Marty's puckhandling really helps our defense.

I'm just saying he wasn't particularly special in that series. A lot of the goals he gave up were squeakers that he should have stopped.

I think he will be even hungrier in next year's playoffs. He finally got rid of the loser/choker label. Now he wants to be a winner.

Little Gio and I`m dead serious. The most consistent, always contributing and perfect in his role at least. Same can be said for Greene.

Kovy was injured (great nonetheless, especially early on).
Marty had his ups and downs (not taking anything away from him).
Zajac had a strong start.
Sal had a great streak.
Zidlicky wasn`t the same after the Simmonds hit.

After the ECF & Finals, I have to say Brodeur. If they made it Game 7 and lost a close game, I think he would have gotten the Conn Smythe.

4th line? Greene-Fayne pairing? I thought we were talking individuals.

The musketeer was clutch though, that`s for sure.

Marty.

Take your pick after that. In terms of raising their level of play from the regular season/expectations I'd say Volchenkov, Carter, and certainly Gionta stood out the most.

The best thing about the playoffs, though, is Henrique. Guy just has it, and the way he carries himself and the poise he displays just gives you the feeling that his huge goals this playoff will be a small slice of his career highlights. Bigtime captain material.

Zajac was a MASSIVE part of our run as well and for someone that missed the entire year, he played great for us down the stretch.

Kovalchuk had an amazing playoffs if you look closely.

Primary assist on Zajac ot team winner, saved season. (amazing pass)
Big series against Flyers, primary assist on Poni's ot winner. (amazing pass)
Finally cracked Lundqvist with first Devils goal. (key to the series imo)
Key forecheck/hit that produced Carters game winner.
Helped jar that puck with Poni to Henrique for ECF clincher.

Against Florida I would say Zajac had the magic stick. Steve Bernier, and the 4th line definitely. Zidlicky, and Bryce too. Marty having a so so series there, but stole game 7 in OT. Henrique just for the OT goal in game 7. Can't forget about Kovy, and Parise with the beautiful set up on the Zajac goal in OT in game 6.

Against Philly Marty for puck handling, Kovy after he returned, Zidlicky had a great series, Bryce as always, Adam Larsson for the series turning point goal in game 2, and Zubrus had a great series there.

Against the Rangers this was the 4th line's series without a doubt. Ryan Carter I think has scored more goals on Lundqvist than any other player in the league! Marty turned played at an extremely high level in this series too. He stole game 6 for us in the 3rd period, and most of the 2nd when they were all over us, and provided us with many vintage highlight reel saves. Adam Henrique for the game winner in game 6 in OT. Bryce Salvador as always.

Against the Kings it's a tough one. 4th line looked good every night. Parise was great in game 5. Have to say Marty played flawlessly aside from game 6, and game 3. I don't pin really any of the goals on him though. Very flawless in every other game, and gave us a real chance to win the first two games. He stole us game 4, and game 5 though. Bryce Salvador again aside from some bad penalties. I don't think they hurt us though.

Bryce Salvador, Marty for either puck handling, and or goaltending, and the 4th line were our most consistent players, and the only ones who played great almost every game. If Marty wasn't sharp in net the puck play made up for it, and I also have to say Adam Henrique was at times our best players on the ice.
