Kovy's on huge TOI numbers heavily coincide with goons in the lineup. Dig up the score sheets, and compare the TOI's when Boulton/Janssen were in the lineup, and you'll see what I mean.

That wasn't always the case as there were a few games since Gionta has been in the lineup in the playoffs where Kovy got 25 minutes, but there were more games in the 20-22 minutes range. I don't think they were taking it easy cause of the injury if I had to guess cause even later in the playoffs he would get the odd 25 minutes or more in a game.

It would have been awesome to see him in the playoffs completely healthy. The magic shot only worked for so long. We've got him for 13 years so I really don't think it's a good idea to play him like that. A lot of people have expressed concern that Marty playing 75 games a year well into his late 30s might have caught up to him.

the puck went in off Voynov lol its not like he sniped a shot top shelf

again, I love Sal, but he was not that good in the Finals IMO.

Kovalchuk was our best player, Brodeur was second (came up big in the finals but wasn't that good in rounds 1-2)

Kovalchuk would have been much better if he wasn't injured, but what he did was damn good anyway.
