Banners will be in the rafters, not on the wall

"Then, of course, there’s the start of the regular season, with the Kings scheduled to host the New York Rangers on Oct. 12. What a shame it would be to see the Kings’ celebration delayed, especially because I’m told there’s a great celebration in the works. Here’s one tidbit: For the first time in their Forum/Staples Center history, the Kings intend to hang banners from the rafters, rather than post them on the wall. That means this year’s Stanley Cup and Western Conference championship banners will hang above the ice, as well as the 1991 and 1993 banners, most likely (details of the event are still being worked out, including the placement of the retired-number banners)."

Let the Lakers have the wall, well have the rafters. Hang the Sparks banners in the basement.

My sexist joke is I always thought they should put the sparks banners in the ladies bathroom. But some find that offensive for some reason.

There must be a reason why the banners inside Staples are on the wall. The ceiling was never designed to have banners hanging. It looks like a cluster****.

Compare this mess:

They've always draped banners against the wall, dating back to the days of the Great Western Forum, and I hated that. Looked so dated by doing so. I'm sure they have the logistics and visuals all set for how/where the banners will be hung from. The placement of banners on the walls reminded me too much of the Forum. I'd like to leave the memories of horse trough urinals and nacho colored seats to my childhood. I appreciate the nostalgia factor, but the Forum was a dump.

You may eat that sarcastic smiley, Ron. The Clippers will compete again, especially with a healthy Bilups. Now they just need a center that can play the center position. I'm talking to you, Jordan.

Getting too crowded on the wall. No space left.

Good idea to segment the Kings out onto the rafters. Outstanding idea, actually...Let's fill it up, guys!

In case of lockout... It'll go back to somewhat normal once the season starts...
