This is great info. Please if possible continue for the other divisions. Obviously, Halifax is looking great this year. I think they need to acquire a solid d man if they want to be clear front runners for the championship this year.
1. Halifax - Can't say too much about them as I'd just be pumping my teams tires . Could run away with this division. Unless Moncton plays like they did last year against us and drag us down a bit.
2. Moncton - Getting the guys from Shawi and acquire the #1 Euro made them go from close to Bathurst, to a bit ahead. Problem is, how will Danny find any 3rd line grinders that he loves in Russia
3. Bathurst - Confused at the Steeves deal when they apparently want to go for it. Relying on a 16yo has been done (Last year, Moose) but it's quite a stretch and too early to say Mason (McDonald) will lead this team far in the playoffs, as I see him already better than Brennan by November/December.
4. Cape Breton - Gets murky after Bathurst but CB acquired Honzik who's a solid goalie in his own right and are a bit more rounded than the Rocket.
5. PEI - Trade Duffy. For the love of God trade the most valuable trade chip you have if you'd like to keep some respect Savard. Another bad year and I'm having a real hard time seeing that "guaranteed championship in 13-14" he promised.
6. Saint John - Just completed an amazing run not seen in the Q for some time. Congrats.... Now suffer :p
Great top 3 forward lines, but very young and obviously inexperienced 4th line. On D, you have a slightly above average core. Obviously with Fucale in nets Hali will be a serious contender.
I don't have Eichel in the mix yet because I feel he will spend a year with the USNTDP U17 team and then come.
Le Titan will have a good team this year. They will probably have one of the best lines in the whole CHL, but their second line has a whole lot of what-ifs. I penciled Gallant in their because I know what he is capable of and I think a lot of icetime right out of the gate will be great for him. They also have a solid bottom 6, and an average at best D core. In nets there is definetly potential but if I were a Titan fan I would be a bit nervous.
Moncton has an ok team right now. After the Import Draft I am expecting them to look among the league's elite. They have 1st overall, but until then we can't pencil anyone in just yet. Up front they have a lethal top line but a lack of scorers after that. On the point, they are strong but those last two spots (McGurty and Labbe) really could go to anyone of them two, Wood, Roussy, McDonald, Belliveau, and possibly even McCabe (due to their lack of toughness on the team).
PEI has a very young team, but I feel they could surprise some people. A solid experienced top six group with a good two-way 3rd line and the remaining forwards could provide some energy. On defense, you have a decent top four, and a rather weak bottom pair. Lagacé should keep them out of the basement this year.
I personally feel CB will be one of the weaker teams in the Martime division this year. They do have a high euro pick so that could turn it around a bit. Other than Carrier, they don't really have any top flight scorers. Great depth but.... On D they are pretty strong, offensive and defensive defenceman mixed in. I think they have to have the best 1-2 punch in nets in all the division however I feel Trudeau will be moved.
What does everyone else feel about this division this year??
1.Halifax
2.Moncton
3.Bathurst
4.Cape Breton
5.PEI
6.Saint John

Good news for Halifax.. Strange move by San Jose , imo, they lack defence in their system..
There could be logjam in Worcester this year on D, and in the system. Coupled with the fact that KA can still work some on the kinks out of his game on a championship-caliber team... Makes me see why they would send him back.

Watching them night-in night-out I'd have to say there D is very underrated. Solid defensively it's just the puck moving D we need. But with Abeltshauser returning it gives us our #1 and we don't have to spend assets on it.
I'd very surprised if the Moose acquired another D before August/xmas.

Should have worded it they lack good defence prospects...Believe he ranked better than most in terms of prospect potential. I agree with you that he will benefit more in Halifax since they are a champion contending team..
Looks about right to me. Really excited to see Fournier along with MacKinnon and Drouin. Could be a monstrous year for all of them and a huge year for Fucale.
I will be updating the line-ups throughout the Import Draft. I will fix my idea of the standings at the end of the day. This is assuming all picks will come over too.

I doubt Warner makes the opening lineup. Maybe when MacKinnon (WJC), or injuries pop up in December than yea, but Lacroix-Courville seems like a better option.
Excited about this Alcade guy. 6'3 200 Pounds with offensive upside.
