I was born in 1993 so I was not around for the days of dionne and vachon and the triple crown line. i wasnt around for the miracle on manchester. i was born during the 93 cup run so i have no memories of gretzky or the gary shuchuk goal. for a long time my favorite all time moment was the adam deadmarsh goal of 2001, but now it has to be the handshake line of tonight when brodeur and quick shared their own private moment. im just wondering if that moment makes it on to anyone elses all time favorite moment lists

Brodeur said he told Quick that he deserved to be a Cup winning goalie and to enjoy it because you never know when you get can get back.

Brodeur of what Quick told him: "He wanted to make sure I don't retire. I guess he likes beating me."
I still hate brodeur and the devils, but just a little less now
I'm sure you have your reasons but I can't get with you on this. NJ was good in this series. There were a few minor issues but no big cheap shots or heinous calls that defined the series. Hard fought gutsy serises by NJ and Broduer.
I must say, as much as I loooove chanting at goalies, I never got there with Marty. Even at 6-1. Way too much respect for that man. If we had dropped the series my only condolence would have been seeing Broduer lift another.

Still glad Quickie beat him though
Yeah, I couldn't do it either. It never got going at the game last night, and I credit Kings' fans for that out of respect for Brodeur.
At the other end of the ice, I will chant Smith's name all game long because the guy is a creep and a punk. I still believes he needs to be charged with assault and attempted assault for using that stick as a weapon.
This is how i looked at it. I think Brodeur was legitmatly impressed with Quick and now it's Quick's turn to become the great goalie of his generation. Congrats again Kings fans! You deserved this!
I've always liked Marty Brodeur. I guess when you backstop Canada to their first Olympic Gold Medal in 54 years in 2002, you get on my good side.
The funny thing is, in theory if Marty Brodeur sticks around at this high level, this series could have featured Canada and the USA's starting Olympic goalies.
Great moment for sure. I don't know how anybody could hate Brodeur, or any of the Devils really. Except Clarkson, that guy is a whiny *****.
I don't really hate Clarkson. Played his role well. Didn't like Carter's ******* dive into Quick but that's about all of the hate I can muster against the Devils. Wound up liking a lot of their players (well, I already did) or remembering why I respect them. Gained respect for Deboer too. Polar opposite of the Phoenix series. Went from respecting guys like Smith and Tippett and Yandle to hating all of them. Hate Hanzal. Always hated Doan though, so that doesn't shock me too much.
