TBH, it was a really good interview, sure it had nothing to do with the Leafs, or not much at least, i really like seeing that side of Burke, same with Cherry.

The team that Burke inherited was essentially equivalent to an expansion team.

I disagree, his talking has done little to help him. It mostly bit him in the ass so he's shut up for now.

Hmm... Toronto market compared to a LA/NJ market. Not quite the same.

How much did we hear about Burke when he was GM of the Ducks? Not much? Exactly.

If I were a GM and just inherited an "expansion team", the last thing in the ****ing world I'd do is trade away my next two first round ****ing picks. Just seems like common ****ing sense!!!

Ok, I'm losing it again.
The things people write on this forums. I mean, are they seriously ****ing joking?

Man... I almost broke down when Burke was choking up talking about his son. That was so hard to watch.

Why Im not so impressed.

We have the largest scouting department in the NHL and have been consistently finishing low(high picks).Sure other GM's were bad but while he has been re tooling the rest of East has pulled away. There is no elite talent in the prospect pool and Burke has spent a ton of money other GM's would not be able to.If not for the Beauchmin trade he would be a disaster. There is an article in Pucklife that talks about Bruke's inability to azzes talent, and let's not forget he was forced to fire Wilson. If not for one trade(Gardiner) against overpaying every one Komi,Grabo,Connolly,Armstrong and overpaying for Kessel to Boston he would have egg everywhere.

His approach of telling all the other GM's what he wants to do and being loyal and coddling players backfired horribly. He repeated the Cloutier mistake after vowing not to and his testerone and truculence speach? This team is even softer! So his keep Wilson, overpay,no goalie,no # 1 center with a bunch of powder puffs approach to me is one mistake after another highlighted by one good trade. The rest is the scouting team's job.

I feel like I should watch The Hour more, considering Strombo's age, he's really a great interviewer. He could be around a long time.
