First Round, 2012, NHL Mock Draft with trades

Pardon the spacing, but I cut and past via excel:

1 Montreal Yakupov New G.M will make a splash and get the franchise forward they need
2 Columbus Murray Rebuilding will start with the safest D man available
3 Edmonton Dumba A little high here, but not everybody wants to play in Edmonton. This Western Canadian kid does it all.
4 Islanders Ceci A Doughty type in the making? Probably a stretch, but Snow goes for injury-free, big, and offense minded
5 Toronto Forsberg Widely considered a can't miss prospect; Toronto needs that
6 Anaheim Galchenyuk Ducks should consider themselves lucky to to get this talent here
7 Minnesota Grigorenko Maybe they need D more, but this kid is too hard to pass up
8 Carolina Gaunce A stretch, but they roll the dice with this tough center with skill and size
9 Winnipeg Trouba All purpose, hard hitting D man will get opposing team's attention
10 Tampa Bay Rielly Could end up the best D in the draft. Definitely makes things happen.
11 Washington Teravainen Super skilled Finn will ultimately replace Semin
12 Buffalo Faksa Size, Size and more size is Buffalo's priority
13 Dallas Aberg Good wheels, good skill, up and coming
14 Calgary Reinhart Calgary needs a safe pick; steady player with good genes
15 Ottawa Koekkoek Injury will not lower his draft position; a real thoroughbred
16 Washington Maatta Late playoff offensive surge moves him up the list
17 San Jose Wilson Big and nasty up the middle
18 Pittsburgh Collberg Move up to get wheels and a scorer's mentality
19 Tampa Bay Vasilevski They got the puck moving D man; now they have the goalie
20 Philadelphia Girgensons A total Philly kind of player
21 Buffalo Finn Steady all around d
22 Chicago Dansk With Koekkoek gone, they move back knowing talented goalie will be there
23 Florida Laughton Kesler-esque player will fill a need at 2nd line center
24 Boston Kerdiles Skating, size and drive to the net. Sounds like a Bruin to me.
25 St. Louis Thrower Tough dman developing all around game
26 Vancouver Pouliot Good all around d man to bolster depth
27 Phoenix Winther Goalie and D look good. Need more offense.
28 Rangers Lindholm D was exposed a bit against Jersey's forecheck
29 Devils Hertl Need an infusion of a combination of size and skill
30 Kings Skjei Probably a steal at this spot; great skater

All right, give me hell!!!

That Dallas pick...

We'd take Reinhart 11 times out of 10 if he's available.

Sharks won't pass up Collberg for Wilson.

Hawks would take Collberg and not trade down for a pick they don't really need. No to a goalie in the 1st

Does anyone read my posts in other mocks before making theirs? I hope we don't take a goalie at 19. We need help in goal now, and we have awful luck drafting goalies especially early.

If Galchenyuk is there at 5 the leafs are all over him we need centre depth, and Galchenyuk looks like he could turn into a 1C.

Giza Mock Draft

How can you say the Hawks don't have a need in goal? They probably have the worst goaltending tandem in the NHL and if you think Carter Hutton and Salak are any better than Crawford, you're mistaken. I don't think the Hawks would draft a goalie at 18, but I do think the need is there and I can see Bowman trading back to replenish what he gave away in the Oduya trade while picking a goalie in the 20's.

Although Forsberg looks awesome, no way Leafs pass up on Galy.

Who said anything about Subban? I have the Hawks drafting Dansk. And, rarely will a player drafted this year help the team immediately. In two to three years, Dansk could be their starting goalie. Hawks have made their bed with their goaltending tandem this year.

As for the Gaunce criticism, you could see him predicted anywhere between 11-24 depending on where you look. I mentioned it was a stretch..but some Mock Drafts have him going 11 so it's not a stretch in that sense. Look where Schiefele went (and was predicted to go) last year, dude.
