Probably just a drunk/partying thing like others said. More surprised he didn't have snuss in his lip.
Not sure if you saw that arena wide picture where you could zoom to see yourself at your seat for game 1, but I forget if it was Boulton or Janssen, but one of them had a nice lipper in and a spitter in hand

Hah that's about what I'd expect. I never realized till I started playing hockey in a few other places how many players dip. I remember one game years back, Jim McKenzie was scratched and they showed a close up on him right as he went and spit in his dip cup.
And Jack Capuano seemed to ALWAYS have a fat lip packed in every post game interview.

Yea it's a big thing in hockey, the McKenzie's and Janssen's and Boulton's gotta keep busy somehow lol
I remember a quote from Todd Bertuzzi that was something along the lines of "If you've never dropped the mitts, drank a beer or packed a lip, you're not really a hockey player." Check, check and check!

haha yup, one of the kids I played hockey with in HS put that as his year book quote
Think TZ is in the one with Marty walking to the limo...all this is a bunch of nothing except for the few married guys....and if Parise does leave, Greene could be our C cause those guys do what ever he says
He does seem to have the respect of our younger players.

This is why I don't want to know about players' personal lives. Not that I see anything terribly scandalous in the couple of videos I watched, but I don't want to know. All I want to care about is how they play hockey.
I've always wondered why these paparazzi guys talk to athletes/stars like they know them and have been friends for years.
Probably because the unwelcome familiarity leads to more controversial responses. They would love it if one of the players cursed them out or took a swing at them. Luckily the Devils were smart enough to stay out of trouble.

These videos are a perfect example of why Lou keeps minimal contact between the players and public and I will not disagree with him on that
I'm sure after the game PDB and LL told the guys to forget the game, have a good time, and enjoy a little of the LA nightlife. They just played 2 months of playoff hockey that ended in disappointment. Sometimes you just gotta go blow off steam.
Parise's probably not there because all he cares about is hockey.
Zajac's probably not there because he's kindof a wee bit dorky.
Tallinder's probably not there beca..... I've got nothing.
Tallinder was there, he got into a cab with Marty and Kovy. I think Parise, Zajac and Boulton are the only ones that haven't shone up in at least one clip yet.

Just bothers me to see someone like Clarkson "blowing off steam" by leading two girls onto a bus while his wife and very young child are at home.
