4. Was the system truely brought to Billy by another person (played by Johna Hill)?
1. Well no. That was a big 3-way trade where the Yankees traded Ted Lily to the A's, the A's traded Brandon Inge to the Tigers, the Yankees got Jeff Weaver, and the Tigers got Carlos Pena. There were players involved too. That's an awful lot of effort to simply force Howe to play Hatteberg.

2. I'm not entirely sure the answer to this.

3. I'd rather not relive this. But they did have a lot of characteristics of a moneyball team.

4. For the most part, yes.

I really liked Moneyball. I saw it in theatres and a couple times since it hit the movie channels. Brad Pitt and Jonah hill were great it in. I'm not a huge baseball fan either so the minor details that were not correct didn't bother me one bit, because I didn't know about them until just now. Overall though, the best sports movie I have seen in a long, long time it seems.

1. No, not quite like that. MJB's explanation is correct.
2. Not sure, but I believe it was less than the offer he turned down from the Red Sox.
3. Yes, they definitely embraced many aspects of Beane's system, and as his competitive advantage shrank, he started looking for new underrated stats to get an edge on the competition.
4. Yes, Paul DePodesta was very influential in the implementation of the system. He later became the GM of the Dodgers, but didn't have nearly as much success.

So Dish network decided to not pick up a new contract with AMC on July 1st because AMC was asking for a 200% increase for the contract. Now I miss out on new Breaking Bad and Walking Dead. Was quite pissed when I realized this when I went to go DVR the new season of BB.

Although, from what I've seen, Breaking Bad seems like an uber intense show, I'm still struggling to erase thoughts of Hal from Malcolm in the Middle every time I see Bryan Cranston on screen.

As usual, when Cable/Satellite Companies go to war against the channels, the only loser is the audience.

Daily Show and Colbert Report online-streaming (temporarily) canceled

Don't worry, I thought the same thing when I started two years ago. For what it's worth, I have trouble seeing Christian Bale in ANYTHING without thinking of him splatting Paul Allen's head with an axe. TRY GETTING A RESERVATION AT DOR'SIA NOW YOU ****ING STUPID *******! *it's hip to be square*

Almost done with season 4 of The Wire. Definitely one of my favourite tv series. Up there with Breaking Bad and GoT.

season 2-4 excellent, hard to pick one out but leaning towards season 3 as the best so far.

Just an awesome show.

Started watching Community finally, after having it recommended to me several times. It is hilarious, and I'm only into the second episode. Looking forward to working through the rest.
