Both teams cook terribly, Gordon tells a lot, some rediculous punishment is given out while the other team leaves in limos, someone goes home..... Rinse and repeat. I'm a big Gordon Ramsey fan but his flipping out is a big part of what got old to me.
I dont get his popularity. He's a ****ing arrogant British **** who curses a lot and has a short fuse and likes to take people down a peg or two.

I'm a ****ing arrogant American **** who curses a lot and likes to take people down a peg or two - where's my ****ing reality show?

Go to Britain, you'll be huge there.

I'm not sure I'd want to know what goes on in the Applebee's kitchen at all.

At this point, his act is 99% schtick for American TV. If you catch some of his Kitchen Nightmares (British version), he's not really that over-the-top like he is on the American version of that show, and Hell's Kitchen, etc.

That said, I still watch his shows (except Master Chef, which I just can't get into). I just like seeing him flip out on idiots I guess.

Kitchen Nightmares is just like Restaurant Impossible - go to a failing place, eat crap food, go on tirade, bust manager and chef down 3 notches, get in angry owner's face about not knowing anything, stop using canned and microwaved items, throw away menu, bring in one page menu with simple fresh made items, repaint, throw up a new sign and some lights and TADA - done.

It's the same thing each time but I watch anyways. The recent Memphis BBQ episode on RI had me thinking I might actually see Robert walk out on the job - especially when the guy talked up his grandpa's famous BBQ sauce and when Robert said it tasted horrible and he wanted to see it made I told my wife - "watch, it will start with someone else's sauce and he'll just add a few things to it" and sure enough - big jug of store bought BBQ sauce with added sugar, ketchup, vinegar and... water.

Gordon Ramsey's British shows are quite calm. Used to get them when I had BBC

Damn shame. But maybe just as well. No way the sequel could touch the original even with Carrey & Daniels.

I would say the "lack of enthusiasm" translates to "pay me more money."

This will get made because as I learned in Dumb and Dumber, "you're saying theres a chance!"

What a voice. Someone commented on the second video and said it reminds them of Damien Rice's "The Blower's Daughter" and I don't disagree. I love this girl's voice.

Picking up The Wire again. Watched 5 episodes but then dropped it because I kinda lost interest. Now I've only got 1 episode left of season 1 and I gotta say it's all good now, it's really good.

Almost through 2 episodes of Shameless. Right from the begining it's just a show where the characters pull you in. The family is so unique in a messed up white trash way, you just don't wanna look away. Emmy Rossum is great in the show too.... and that's besides her looks

The Wire is definitely a slow burner, it can be difficult to get into at first but once the world has been established, there's not a better show out there (IMO). Season 1 is actually one of the weaker ones too.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I felt at the start. Really slow, OK but not much more. Some times when watching I was just sitting their, wondering how much of the 50 mins had gone by. Now though, after picking it up again at the start of the 6th/7th episode, I was hooked right away. Looking forward to the seasons ahead now, should be good.
