Went with Vasilev. I'm intrigued by him. Could possibly be a good value pick.

I lied when I said Pettersson or Alderson next. I went with Vasiliev. He's got significant KHL experience, is young (just turned 20) and has good size.

Vasiliev
Petterson

I think both will make the NHL. Not really high ceilings but I do think they are good and will make it. They can be really good 4-6 shutdown dmen. I'm really confident in Petterson. Haven't seen enough of vasiliev to be as confident but I hear good things.

Tier 2:
Fazleev (maybe highest potential of the remaining)
Wilcox
Amorosa
Parks

Think they will prob be AHLers but I do think they have a chance at making it. The rest I don't see much of anything.

I voted Vasiliev. I think his upside is similar to fellow countrymen Alexei Emelin.

I'm not really worried about the Russian factor here with him but you never know I guess. He did try to come over to play juniors here in the USHL after being drafted but then got promoted to the senior team with his KHL organization & stayed (which I don't blame him & actually prefer). He also signed a 1 year this summer for the next season so it appears he is at least keeping his options open over there possibly. It might not mean much but at least signs appear to be a bit in the positive direction in regards to that topic.

It's Vasiliev in terms of being a player. I won't ignore the Russian factor though, I've got more reasons to keep it in consideration than not. He drops a cpl few spots for me here until he's skating on NA soil. Guess I like Pettersson here atm.

I wouldn't ignore Fazleev here, either. He's got a decent set of tools. Should be suiting up for Russia at the WJCs as well.

I'll pick Pettersson again, though.
